IISER Bhopal Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

Infrastructure of the Institute is good. Most of the labs are fully equipped with state of the art machinery and resources are plenty. Campus area is around 200 acres. First year classes happen in the auditorium (500-student capacity), and as students choose their majors and are specialised, are moved to appropriate sized classrooms. Library consists of 3 floors. Computer centre is also there in the same complex. In terms of food joints, Indian Coffee House (ICH), Cafe Coffee Day (CCD), Sudarshan palace (Indian food), Nescafe, and many more food outlets are there at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal.

The campus life is very happening with lots of festivals and cultural events happening. The Institute has all types of people and you just have to find your group. One thing that is really amazing about the people here is how they are so multitalented and that they take time pursue their interests whether it be academic or co curricular. The Institute has many student run clubs, which are very active in the initiatives they take and keep conducting many events for students. Some of the active clubs in the Institute are namely Debating club, Quiz club, and Dance club. The annual fest ‘Enthuzia’ is a stress buster and a time when lots of fun activities such as games, live performances and student activities are organized. IISER Bhopal has state of the art infrastructure. The lecture hall complex is well equipped with both board and digital aids, with sufficient seating capacity. The academic buildings (4 in number) house the research labs of the faculty members along with conference rooms, seminar halls in them. The UG Labs are also well equipped with many modern equipment and machines. The institute also has an extensive sports facilities including cricket ground, football ground, athletics ground, tennis court, basketball court, table tennis, chess, carom, well equipped gym, and many more.

The student community is vibrant and diverse, from people from all around the country. Various community events and traditional festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm. There are also many clubs (Drama, Dance, Music, Book, Biology, Chemistry, Maths, etc.) and councils (Science, Fine arts, SDC, Sports, etc.) that are equally participated in by the whole student community. These councils are also responsible for organizing various fests over the academic year like ‘Enthuzia’, ‘Singularity’, ‘MUN’, etc. E-Cell at IISER Bhopal has been recently set by the student body, and I was the first and founding Coordinator of the same. IISER Bhopal has four academics blocks, big lecture hall complex , sports area for outdoor sports, central library, computer centre for student, community centre for festival celebration, Ideation hut, Indian coffee house, and Cafe coffee day in the campus for its students.

Overall, IISER Bhopal campus is very beautiful and very big. We enjoyed many type of fest like 'Enthuzia', cultural fest and celebrating festivals like 'Onam', 'Ganesh chaturthi', 'Janmashtmi' and sports events named as 'Sangharsh'.
