The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Education (previously MHRD). Located at Pune, Maharashtra, it is an Autonomous Institute and was also granted the status of ‘Institute of National Importance’ in 2012. The Institute is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

IISER Pune has a Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC). The cell keeps a track of the students’ performance in various activities and helps them develop the necessary professional skills.
It facilitates the students with Internship opportunities so that they can get adequate industrial exposure and are ready for the IISER Pune Placement interviews.
IISER Pune has world-class infrastructure and research facilities in its campus to provide a conducive learning atmosphere to the students along with other amenities to support their all-round development. The campus is spread over a land area of approximately 98 acres and there are a multitude of Wi-Fi access points available for students to access the global learning platforms without any constraints. Other than this, the campus is secured round the clock by the security guards to ensure the safety of students.
At the IISER Pune Campus, there are dedicated complexes for various purposes. Multiple classrooms & lecture halls are present in the ‘Lecture Hall Complex’; here, the students are taught using advanced multimedia aids so that they can understand the concepts comprehensively.
