Ever since the 50 lectures per subject per semester rules have been applied in most NLUs, I think academics have seen excellent changes. Our University was the first one to implement that and was also awarded by BCI for that. To get admission in this College, students should have valid CLAT score.

To get admitted to HNLU one needs to clear CLAT. It invites top scorers with a rank around AIR 500 which keeps fluctuating. However, there are certain reservations like ST, SC, OBC, state reservation, women quota, etc. It also admits students through NRI quota. Further it offers an integrated course in B.A.LL.B for undergraduate degree. It also has its LLM and Ph.D programs.

The courses offered by the college are B.A. LLB (Hons.) and LLM. The BA Hons is in Political Science. I joined the 5 years integrated BA LLB program. I had an interest in pursuing law as my mother works at a law firm and I developed an inclination towards the field after seeing her work. The first three years are focused more on Arts subjects (Economics, Political Science, English, Sociology) with some minor law subjects. The final 2 years (years 4 and 5) are focused purely on law with major law subjects such as CPC, CrPC, IPC. These subjects are very useful for a budding lawyer.
