Federal Institute of Science and Technology Ernakulam Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

Campus infrastructure is pretty much old fashioned. Every block is in the same building. Institute is divided into three blocks for MCA, B.Tech, and M.Tech separately. Campus size is pretty much small excluding cricket ground and other sports facilities. Federal Institute of Science and Technology is located in a remote area. The nearest city is 7 km away from the institute and the nearest town is 3 km away from the institute. Classrooms seating capacity is good. Library is pretty big but timing of library is not appropriate as library is not available after 6 PM and is closed on Sundays. Institute has a good number of labs and seminar halls. Auditorium is small. Sports management is pretty good at Federal Institute of Science and Technology. Institute gives all kind of back support for all players. Canteen service is pretty average. Transport is also average as there are only few buses for town or city directly from the route of institute. My favorite spot is the cricket ground at the campus of Federal Institute of Science and Technology.

Overall campus life is good at Federal Institute of Science and Technology. Most of my peers are well disciplined and have a goal oriented mindset. There are many clubs and international organisations like IEEE, ASME, etc. Sports have a huge role in campus as most of the students are also institute sports team members. Institute conducts only few number of fests in which most of them are tech fests. There is annual event called Bharatam which is conducted once a year in big scale. There are 3 blocks in the campus. One is the south block which is the engineering block; second is north block that contains the CS department students and business school, and third is the Decennial block for administration. The campus size is of 40 acres. The classrooms have a seating capacity for 75 students. There are 2 mess and one canteen facility available in the campus.

The overall institute life is quite good. The campus is not so crowded. There are many departmental clubs which we can participate in. Many professional bodies such as IEEE, ASME is there in the campus. Two main cultural events are organised there. One is Bharatam and another is Arangu. Bharatam is conducted twice a year and Arangu is conducted once a year. The institute is quite strict but overall it’s a good institute.
