Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) - Sapthagiri College of Engineering tenders a suite of B.E/B. Tech courses in a range of disciplines. All B.E. programs run for 4 years, spread across eight semesters. Each and every semester is completed within 16 weeks.
A student can apply for the college’s B. Tech program in any one of the six disciplines. These disciplines include civil engineering, biotechnology, electrical & electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics & communications engineering, information science & engineering. Admission to this undergraduate program is open to all those candidates who’ve cleared the 10+2/higher secondary examination (with PCM) of any approved ‘central’ or ‘state’ board.
The candidate must have scored at least 45% marks in aggregate with the compulsory subjects being English, mathematics and physics. Additionally, the student should have had any one subject out of chemistry, electronics, biology, computer science or biotechnology. Additionally, the applicant has to clear the KCET entrance exam or any national-level engineering entrance exam to be eligible for admission.
The applicant also needs to secure an eligibility certificate from VIT of from Sapthagiri College of Engineering for applying to the B.E. program. The above stipulation is mandatory for students possessing a high school pass certificate of any pre-university education board other than that of Karnataka.
B.Tech Lateral - Admission Directly to 2nd or 3rd Year
Please note that the college admits students directly to 2nd/3rd year, via the lateral entry mode or system. Any candidate holding a diploma in engineering or technology or any other analogous qualification approved by VTU, having obtained at least 45%, qualifies for lateral entry.
Master of Technology (M. Tech) - The Master of Technology course offered by the engineering college is a 2-year full-time program that encompasses 4 semesters. The duration of every semester varies depending upon the number of courses to be covered, the examinations, and preparation period. A student can opt for the M. Tech (computer science & engineering) or the M. Tech (VLSI Design and Embedded Systems) program.
An aspirant for this postgraduate engineering program should have the B.E/B. Tech certificate of any approved university or VTU. Also, the candidate should have scored a minimum 50% on an aggregate basis in each and every year of the degree course. The applicant also has to secure the minimum cut-off marks in any national or state-level postgraduate engineering entrance examination like GATE, PGCET, VITEEE, TANCET, and the like.
PhD - SCE’s PhD course is a 3-year, full-time, on-campus program. After successful completion of the program, students receive the M. Phil or Doctorate certification from the college. A student can select from six distinct disciplines or streams for pursuing the PhD course. These streams comprise ‘information science & engineering’, ‘chemistry’, ‘biotechnology’, ‘mechanical engineering’, ‘electronics and communications engineering’, and ‘electrical & electronics engineering’.
A student applying for the college’s PhD program must possess the MSE or M. Tech certification of a recognized university.
