In 1978, the IMED Pune was established as a Private Business School. The Institute is also known as Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development.
It is a consistent unit of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU), Pune and is approved by AICTE. It is also accredited by NAAC and is a member of Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
