Ramnarain Ruia College Mumbai Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

Well, I have seen a lot of changes in the college as I have been seeing it from childhood. Earlier it was like an old British School and when I joined the building was the same but the interiors were turned to modern. There were over 10 labs in the college and a small radio station as BMM studies couldn’t be done without that. There was a press release studio as the college has a confession page and we were asked to make stories from there and publish in the yearly magazine of college. Our classes were held in Arts college building as there are just two buildings inside the campus as one was ours and the other one was Science department building.

The campus life here is great because the most intellectual crowd of Mumbai comes here. Yes, it’s after St. Xavier’s but still better than NM or Mithibai which are first choice college of students living in suburbs. The campus event list was never ending and even Arts department had events that I never dreamt of. Ruia college is a campus that has 2 buildings, one each for Arts and Science stream. There were more classrooms than required and these classrooms were turned into green rooms during events or any practice sessions. The college has many labs but all for science students and BA students had to use the space in between the building for their events or mass projects submission. The parking area was small and there are many restaurants nearby the college where students can park their vehicles. College’s library is small too but to be fair with the college, Arts students have hardly used that. The college has a small garden that should be handed to the forest department because it has turned into one. College infrastructure of Ruia was same as most of the colleges of Mumbai as this is how colleges in Mumbai generally looks like.

Ruia was one of the most happening colleges in Mumbai. Moreso because of the location as the college was in Dadar which is close to town. Worli was nearby and going to Worli Sea face or Haji Ali were our best time pass during then. Arts students fest was called Aarohan and Science students fest was called Utsav and Ruia was one of those colleges that had cultural fests twice a year.
