Established and located in the City of Joy since 1953, the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management was founded by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy and the foundation stone was laid by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Several courses are offered at the institute ranging from Research and Degree programs to Postgraduate, Diplomas and Short-term courses. Most of these programs are affiliated and it also offers foreign language programs to its students. They educate over 1200 students with several specialisations like Marketing, Finance, HRM, Business Analytics & Systems, POM, Energy, Environment, Hospital Management, Transport & Logistics, MSW, Retail, and Sports.

*The candidates have to clear their previous exams from recognised universities. The admission fee and course fee are mentioned in the Admission Brochures of respective courses.
The standard admission procedure for all the courses is similar. The candidates willing to apply have 2 options:
The students can download the Admission Brochure and the DL form (Application form) along with the College Bank Challan.
Next, they need to fill up the form and deposit the amount specified for the particular course to a State Bank branch.
The hard copy of the completed Application form, copy of the payment slip, and all the documents need to be sent to the address of the Institute mentioned on the official website of the college via speed post or courier.
*The application form should reach the address before the last date.
On Campus (in-person):
The Application form and Brochure can also be collected by paying the amount mentioned on the website for the particular course in cash at the reception counter of the Institute. The form can be submitted at the reception before the last date.

IISWBM is spread across 1,786 sq.m of a beautiful campus located on College Square near the University of Calcutta and provides facilities and opportunities to its students toward their growth. These are some of the facilities provided by the institute:
Transportation: The College is located near the Central Metro Station which makes the metro rail the easiest mode of transportation for the students, staff, and faculty.
Seminar rooms: Various seminars take place in the seminar room of the campus. This is an open space for the students and staff to exchange ideas. The members of other institutes and corporate houses also attend seminars here.
Conference rooms: This room is well equipped with audio-visual aids to have uninterrupted interactions through video conferencing. This makes it easier for the institute to be industry-friendly.
Classrooms: All the classrooms are well-equipped with air conditioners and comfortable chairs and tables. The infrastructure is modern and well-maintained.
Auditorium: The auditorium of the college has an excellently designed stage with good sound system and an audio-visual screen. Several meetings, interactive sessions, and stage shows take place here.
Computer Centre: The institute also has a computer center where the students can access free wireless internet 24/7. It was started to ensure that the students’ learning process is easy and effective.
Library: The campus has a central Library with numerous books and study materials. The library has e-journals, e-books, and specialized books on management. The library is under CCTV surveillance and aims to make the book-reading experience of students better.
Photocopying facilities: The library also provides a photocopying facility to the students which can be availed by the students after their library card is issued.
Hostel Facility: The girls’ hostel was established inside the campus in 2012 and accommodates 40+ girls. The hostel is situated adjacent to the college campus and is fully furnished. The facility provides attached bathrooms, canteen, a common living area with a TV, and a dining hall. Microwave ovens, refrigerators, water coolers, and purifiers along with ironing facilities are also provided in the hostels. There is a 24-hour security service to make sure the students are safe.
