The Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) was established in 1964 as a State University. It was formerly known as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) and it is located at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

ANGRAU Guntur is approved by UGC. It is also recognised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Moreover, the University has around 12 Constituent and 6 affiliated Colleges.

The Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University has several Faculties namely Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and Faculty of Community Science. Admission Process

Admissions at the ANGRAU Guntur are accepted through online & offline mode (send the application form through the postal to the registrar office) for UG courses. Moreover, students need to apply online through the official website for PG and other programs.

The admission seats of the courses are filled on the basis of marks secured by the students in the last qualifying exam / ICAR’s AIEE or AICE / Engineering, Agriculture & Management Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) / State or National level Entrance exam, as per the requirement of the respective program.

* Admissions at the University are open for NRI students as well. However, their courses & fees, eligibility criteria, admission process, etc. may differ.

Reservation Criteria

At ANGRAU Guntur, some of the admission seats of the available courses are reserved for the students belonging to different categories like BC, SC, ST, EWS, Defence, etc. Moreover, 40% of the admission seats are to be filled by the students belonging to farmer’s quota. However, there are a certain eligibility criteria that students must fulfil along with form I and II.

Scholarship is offered by the University to the students in order to ease their financial burden, so that they can pursue their education without any barrier. Students can avail the scholarships by fulfilling the required eligibility criteria. Moreover, the University offers a certain monetary amount as scholarship and it may differ as per the chosen one.

• State Scholarship Scheme
  • Jagananna Vidya Deevena: This scholarship is provided by Andhra Pradesh Government to the students belonging to SC / ST/ Backward Classes / Minority / Differently Abled / Economically Backward or others.
    In order to avail this scholarship, the annual family income of the student must not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/-. Moreover, students receive the monetary amount in around 4 installments in a year.
  • Jagananna Vasathi Deevena: Under this scheme, the Government provides scholarships on hostel and mess charges of the BPL students. The monetary amount is transferred to the students in 2 installments per year.
• Centrally Sponsored Scholarship Scheme
  • National Talent Scholarship: This scholarship is offered on merit-basis. Students seeking admission in any of the UG and PG courses of Agricultural University (except the domicile state) through ICAR All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) can avail this scholarship.
    A certain monetary amount is provided to the students and it may differ as per the course level i.e., Bachelors and Masters.
  • Merit Cum Means Scholarship: Indian Council for Agricultural research (ICAR) provides this scholarship to the meritorious students planning to Bachelors in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, and Home Science. This scholarship is awarded annually on a merit cum means basis.
