JELET Exam Pattern 2026: Overview
To offer admission to the students in the 2nd year of the UG programs in the Engineering / Technology and Pharmacy discipline which are offered at several participating Institutions, the WBJEE Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test is conducted. Candidates who will be appearing in the JELET 2026 should consider the test pattern to pass the exam with relevant score.

JELET Exam Pattern 2026: Paper-Wise Details
On the basis of the JELET 2026 exam pattern, the test will have 2 papers for the students who have qualified the respective examination; the details of the same are as follows:

Paper II: For Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) Candidates
In accordance with the JELET exam 2026 pattern, the test paper for D.Pharma program students will have only 1 Category, comprising a total of 100 MCQs.
JELET Exam Pattern 2026: Marking Scheme
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) allots marks to the students in the exam on the basis of the specified JELET marking scheme which is below-listed for both the categories:
Category 1
The conducting body follows the below-given marking criteria for Category 1 as per the WB JELET exam pattern 2026:
- 1 mark will be given for a right answer.
- -0.25 marks will be deducted for incorrect responses to a question.
- Negative marking will be applicable for any combination of more than one option, even if it has the right option.
Category 2
In the Category 2 of the exam, aspirants get one or more than one right answer for a question. Also, the marking scheme of this category is stated below:
- Marking a correct response for a question will provide 2 marks to the students.
- If the combination of the answers contains one or more incorrect options then the answer will be incorrect even if one or more than chosen options are right. In this case, no marks will be allotted to the candidates.
- If the candidate did not mark all right options but also no wrong options are marked then 2 marks will be awarded.
* If the students are not attempting the questions then no marks will be deducted by the authority under both Category 1 & 2.
JELET Exam Pattern 2026: Facilities for PwD Candidates
The exam conducting body has some extra facilities for the students belonging to persons with disability category. In addition, to avail such facilities, candidates need to have at least 40% of a specified disability as per the Section 2(r) of the RPWD Act, 2016, “persons with benchmark disabilities”.

Compensatory Time
On the pro-rata basis, 20 minutes per hour for the duration of the exam is offered to the persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) candidates as compensatory time.
Scribe Facility
The exam authority allows eligible PwBD candidates to bring their own scribe / reader in the examination.
Note: To avail the afore-given facilities, students need to apply formally in writing to the Chairman of WBJEEB with requisite documents and also have to submit the application to the Board’s office at least 30 days before the conduction of the exam.
