The MITID DAT 2026 is going to be conducted in 2 phases. Educational Qualifications

• For B.Des / B.Des (Fashion) Programs: Obtained at least 45% marks in 12^th Standard in any discipline.
• For M.Des Program: Secured 50% minimum marks / equivalent grade in Undergraduate Degree in the specified stream, as regulated for the requisite specialisation.

*Students of backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra state will be given 5% relaxation in qualifying marks / equivalent grade, as applicable for both of the aforementioned course levels.

Indian, NRI, Foreign Nationals, PIO, and OCI candidates can apply.

Phase 1

• For B.Des / B.Des (Fashion) Program: Candidates who have applied for admission in the aforementioned courses should be aware that Phase 1 will comprise Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The test has to be taken by the students at the allocated test centre.
  The DAT will further include the following exams:
  • Objective and Subjective Test: Through online computer-based mode.
  • Drawing Test: Combination of online and pen & paper based exam.
• For M.Des Program: Students applying for this program have to submit a Portfolio & Statement of Purpose (SOP) in the specified format before the last stipulated date.

Phase 2

Students shortlisted in Phase 1 will be called to appear for the Phase 2. This phase includes Studio Test followed by Personal Interview and is the same for all programs. These rounds will be conducted at the campus of MIT Institute of Design, Pune.

Students should carry their hall ticket while appearing for the MITID DAT 2026. The admit card will be generated after thorough inspection, verification, and acceptance of the submitted application form. For B.Des & B.Des (Fashion) programs, the Phase 1of the MITID DAT 2026 will be held at 16 test city centres across India. Students can choose the desired exam centre while completing the application form.
