The conducting body will conduct the 10 different papers of PUBDET 2026 for admission into 16 subjects available in the accepted programs of the University. Moreover, eligible students can only apply for any 3 subjects. However, candidates should know that they cannot opt for the 3 subjects for which the test is going to be held on the same day and time.

In accordance with the PUBDET 2026 exam pattern, every paper of the test will include 50 multiple choice questions. Moreover, in each question, students will get 4 options out of which one needs to be marked.
The specified time limit to attempt all the questions in the entrance test is 90 minutes. Along with this, the total marks of the exam will be 100.
The PUBDET marking scheme that will be followed by the WBJEEB (exam conducting body) to allot marks to the students in the exam are as follows:
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) that is the test conducting authority provides some special facilities for the candidates belonging to Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwD) category as per the PUBDET exam pattern 2026.
In addition, according to Section 2(r) of the RPWD Act, 2016, “persons with benchmark disabilities” means a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified disability.
The details about such facilities are as follows:
Compensatory Time
Candidates belonging to the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category will get an extra 20 minutes per hour in the examination on a pro-rata basis.
Scribe Facility
Scribe or reader facility can be availed by the PwBD category students. However, such candidates have to arrange the scribe on their own, the authority will not be responsible for this.
Note: Candidates who wish to avail the afore-given special facilities have to apply formally in writing with requisite documents to the Chairman, WBJEEB and also need to submit the application to the designated authority minimum 60 days before the beginning of the test.
