SRM University Kattankulathur B.Tech Review By Ashraf Mahammad

As we all know in colleges we will expose to vast diversity and SRM has no doubt in it. We will get to experience to various customs, behaviors and mentality of thousands of students. And the main thing I observed is languages play a major part. Many speak Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and other languages also. As this college is in Tamil Nadu many people here will give priority or preference to Tamil speaking people only and coming to life in this college, all about is about studies, hackathons, projects, etc. Every day is new day as we may come across new challenge day by day. And coming to climate, usually Chennai near to sea summers are too hot and in rainy season at Mid of November and December rains are happening more and heavily, food is ok but not to a great extent. Overall, we can say we come to college to discover ourselves and SRM is giving opportunity to students.

I chose due to my personal interest in Computer Science and the world is developing in a vast space and I wanted to be part to develop the world in term of technology. At time AI is going and playing a major part and in near future AI going to rule the technical world I taken AIML as a specialization. To get in this course the eligibility is simple as 12th pass with minimum 60% marks in major subjects and this come to eligibility the same as stated earlier.AI is growing in vast state and I needed to give my contribution to develop in different aspects. I encourage the newcomers to take part yourself to develop and experience the AI.

Faculties merely plays a role in your studies until or unless you go and interact with them. The faculty is knowledge, and they are Ph.D in their respective fields. They are very supportive if anybody is showing interest towards their career and subject they are studying. Different faculties have different styles of teaching .as classrooms are led, and projector supported the visualization and understanding capacity may increase due to this. Faculties are very busy in their research works in their respective fields and they let students to take part in their research work to enhance the knowledge of student.

My college provides placements, and it consists of Placement Cell. Yes, placement cell plays an important role in getting various companies and get notified to students. Due to placement cell we i.e. students are very grateful to have it and we have an app to which placement information will get notifies as soon as possible and it helps us to apply in easier manner. The placement cell informs students the companies list which they are going take internships or placement to which we students are accustomed and preparing well for it and getting opportunities to getting jobs.

I lived in hostel only for 1 semester. I have limited information about hostel life, but I will give info as much I know. Residential facilities are also available. As all know how the hostel life will be and how it is. It’s about how we adjusted and come along the situations in their life. While coming to facilities we have gym and player halls, temples and good mess and washrooms and room are well maintained and washed and cleaned most of the times. We have playground and basketball court and nets, and we are going to have swimming pools, football court and all recreational things available.

In SRM we have a main campus, university building and tech part building. The main building, we can say university building which we call UB. UB contains Central library system provide with charging ports for laptops and AC supported. UB is basically a pentagonal structure and it’s a cool building in terms of its structure and we have clean washrooms and mineral water for drinking and classrooms are AC supported. And CC cameras are installed in each and every corner. Tech Park building and UB are 15 floors, and we have medical block and Hospital with international amenities, and we have law block, Degree, Biotechnology, Architecture blocks with good amenities.

Campus life is a beautiful experience and very student must and should experience it in their life. As every college has same problem SRM is crowded college. It has more students and yearly the intake of students’ increases. We have various clubs namely cultural club, mechanical club, art club, dance club, various networking clubs. We have two major fests namely AARUSH and MILAN. AARUSH is tech fest and MILAN is cultural fest both are most enthusiastic fest and most entertaining fests for MILAN we usually have famous celebrities to grace our events.
