MNC Placements at SRM University Kattankulathur

SRM University Kattankulathur is a pretty well known university in the field of engineering. Many MNC's visit SRM for hiring which is pretty impressive as a private engineering university. My overall experience of the university is average. The crowd is huge. There is excessive competition for everything but if you are good at what you do, you do not need to worry.

I chose B.Tech CSE and my main motive for enrolling in this course is that I find computer engineering intriguing. I have a keen interest in coding. Eligibility for this course is 75% minimum in PCM. The admission process is very simple which is followed by physical enrollment and attending the orientation. Internal exams continue throughout the semester but the main examination is held once a year. The course curriculum could be updated which is relevant for now and future purpose.

In SRM University Kattankulathur, Rs. 4,75,000 is the fee per annum. The admission fee is Rs. 10,000. There is also an exam fee for each end semester which is around Rs. 3,000. Scholarships are provided if you score a rank less than 100.

Overall, the faculty is good enough as many of them have studied in IITS and from abroad as well. The methods of teaching include PPTs and blackboards. Almost every teacher has excellent problem solving abilities. The teacher to student ratio is approx 1:72. The faculty is highly approachable. They often ask the students to approach them whenever they have a doubt regarding the subject; if they have a unique idea or even if they want to contribute in that particular subject.

The campus size is more than 250 acres. There is everything available inside the campus. There is even an outlet of subway inside. The classrooms have a seating capacity of 80-85 students. All classrooms are equipped with projectors and ACs. Library, labs, auditorium and almost everything is there. The university has Asia’s largest auditorium. There is a hospital inside campus. Java is my favorite the place to hangout with my friends and grabs good food. The campus is very pretty. There are a lot of trees as well.

The overall campus life is pretty good. The crowd is decent. There are more than 30 clubs in this university. For every different activity, there is a different club. Be it racing, electronics, robotics, you will get a club of your interest. As there are so many clubs, the extracurricular activities take place almost daily. Almost every day, there is a new seminar or a new hackathon to participate in. There are 2 main events: Aarush and Milan. They both are kind of cultural fests. They invite different actors and singers to perform.
