Jain University BBA Review By Sujata Narkhede

Jain University’s BBA program is not just good but the course has been designed keeping the modern day industry needs in demand. Ask anyone from any other University and can they answer, what is the role that BBA student can fulfill? In the first itself we were given this answer that a BBA student can serve as a business administrator in an organization. He/she can plan long term business goals and thereby also keep a check on daily operations of an organization. The leadership dynamics is the main skill that was developed into us through this program at Jain University and I would therefore be always thankful to the University. The study that I did during my BBA days fetched all the qualities that a management student should have and I went on to do an MBA just to hone my skills. Jain University MBA program has not only enabled me to have a qualification but also helped me to have a thorough knowledge of what a company’s manager roles are.

The business world demands were the prime focus when the University designed this course. This is the reason that the University also conducts an admission test to get entry to its BBA program. There are management seats but will have to end up paying double the fees if you wish to take that route. One should take this course only if they are serious as theory and practicals are divided proportionally and the University is lenient is passing but the course won’t be of any use if you are not attentive.

Look in such a huge University the faculty can’t take care of each and every student. You will have to invest your time and also be regular. Though irregularity has its consequences but being regular will only help your cause. Higher attendance also means higher in internals and assignments. However, if you make an effort and connect with the faculty members they are always up for help. The qualification and the experience that the faculty members hold is great as there are some young assistant professors as well. If you are not satisfied with one faculty, for the same subject you have another faculty member and you can approach them at will.

The college believes in skill development but may be not so in making sure that at least half of the students get placements. The college placement cell works day in and day out and of course you will have to approach them only then they will help you. I did approach them and my numbers were also good. Still unfortunate that I wasn’t even provided with an opportunity to showcase my talent as the students who made the cut, I wasn’t among those. My batch mates who actually got a job were quite happy as some of them were hired by the country’s best banks and some of them by the IT giants. The CTC was in the range of Rs. 4-5 lakhs. At least some of them actually had placements from the campus.

The funniest part about the Jain University is that they don’t have hostels at most of their campuses. They search an area nearby and build a hostel there. There were various hostel buildings and separate for both boys and girls. The hostel area is known as CSC (Campus Student Community) and students of various Jain UG institutes stay there. The hostels have options on sharing from single to 4 occupancy rooms. All the rooms are well-furnished and have best of the art facilities. The fees that the University command is too high as I didn’t opted at the hostel because the cost of living outside was at par and at least we had our freedom. The hostels are strict when it comes to timing as for the girl’s hostel it’s 8 pm. The hostel also has a mess facility but only vegetarian food is served in the mess and that was also one of the main reasons why I didn’t opt for the hostel.

Jain University and sports are like husband and wife. The college is serious about sports and why not as sportsmen like Pankaj Advani, Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, and Shikha Tondon among others have been a part of Jain University. Rest all infra is ok-ok but the sporting facilities is certainly the best. The University has a cricket ground where divisional Ranji team and city owned IPL franchise RCB also comes for practice. The coliseum badminton court is mostly occupied by girls as the outfield is occupied by boys. The lawn tennis court, the gym, are a part of University’s sports complex. If you think I am done then please hang on as the University has a complex named Sprintoor where we had a convention centre, bowling alley, and aerobics centre as well. Now coming to the strangest thing that one can ever find in a college campus is the number of temples. Not just Jain temples but the University campus also has Hanumanji and Sai Temples as well.

I don’t think I can satisfy with you my answer if my above answers are not satisfactory. Teaching at the university is great and so are the students. The University believes in the overall development of students and therefore the students if they want to keep themselves busy they can. The societies that are available in the University gives you an option to try all that you can be it acting, singing, or dancing.
