Sharda University BBA Review By Khalid Mustafa Beg

Since I have passed out from Sharda University in 2020 so I feel like I am the right person to tell you about my course and the university. I was enrolled in B.B.A. This specific course is not at all what they promised during the time of admission as we got only one or two professors who were good in lectures and the art of teaching. Everyone else was average. Though there are exciting opportunities available if you are a self-starter as they regularly organize Business fairs where students test their metal against each other by selling food, Unique snacks, Products and clothes unique to their area. The university surrounding is beautiful and pleasing to the eye so you don't need to worry about that. As it is located in Knowledge Park 3 it is an eco-friendly campus. They even grow organic vegetables. If you are lucky and know the right people you can buy it at a very cheap price. For business students, the main dilemma is that only 30% of students enroll in this course to study so you have to find the right crowd otherwise you will waste your time here. Mind your surroundings as there is always something happening like quizzes, Activities and you can choose to be a part of them. You most likely in this course lots of assignments, Projects and live presentations. Try to submit them as they will fetch you Good class assessment marks which are under the control of the teaching faculty.

This is where I felt the university was lacking in our course. The teaching faculty only had one or two good professors for the main subjects. So what happens is that students flock around them so they get annoyed too. So try to be patient when talking with them. It's not all bad in this area because you get all live projects and how to be a team player is taught to us during these sessions. There are weekly conferences held at auditoriums where heads of different kinds of businesses usually come to give speeches so that is a golden opportunity that I got when I was there so try to attend them as there you will learn the practical skills.

As I mentioned earlier there are a group of professors in most cases three so I found their lectures to follow simpler than others. So other faculty I found to be average in-class lectures but there was an advantage to this as their cabins were less crowded for clearing your doubts so you can go in and have a one - on- one interaction which I found very helpful as they give us more time there while clearing our doubts. We get weekly assignments and tests along with a semester exam and a midterm exam. My advice to you is trying to score good marks in midterms as they will help you get good grades by the end of the semester.

The Placements in this area are quite average and only good students who have their basics clear get placed. The university has a lot of tie-ups but since the course, BBA itself provides you with limited opportunities until you do M.B.A. So the university is lacking in this area but you get one benefit though if you are a top tier student then the opportunity of getting placement increases as even the faculty recommends you during the placement. There is one more thing that you must know that there is an option of semester exchange with a foreign university so if you have depicted good behaviour in college and scoring in the top 10 at least. You can spend one semester in a foreign university although there is a catch to this, all the expenses incurred from travel, living and accommodation will be on you. So it is completely self-financed. The kind of exposure that you will get there is entirely something else. So keep an eye on this semester exchange program as there is a formal interview conducted for selecting such students and the competition is high.

We spend half our time in hostels so it must have all the comfort and Sharda Uni won’t disappoint you in this as there are many options available if you come with a heavy pocket you can choose your level of comfort. There are affordable options also available. So there are tons of options available for both boys and girls with tight security and CCTV cameras. There is an option for you to keep your vehicle inside too. Food is good but not extremely tasty. Try to grab breakfast as it's the most nutritious and tasty in my opinion. Also, you will get electronic id cards so you have to use them so whenever you enter or exit from the hostel so that’s a bit tedious. You have lifts and high-speed wi-fi available 24 hours so you don’t have to worry about that. Guards are there at entry points. The mess is clean as there is a separate eating area for students and no you are not allowed to take your food above provided by the mess.

The college is huge it's so big that you cannot even see everything in 1 day. All the buildings are designed in a modern way and quite aesthetic. All the buildings are equipped with lifts with different libraries for different fields. Sharda University also has its hospital where you can get all sorts of treatment and medicine. The lifts are big so you don't have to worry about reaching maximum capacity at one time but the downside of this, especially in hostels, is that they are a little slow and you won’t get any network while you are inside. Everything is well maintained and in case of any mishap, it is dealt with quickly.

Sharda University is a world in itself so you will spend your years here without even realizing how fast they went by. The campus is spread across 65 acres with lush green grass. The university is brewing with activities and sports of all sorts through the most popular ones are basketball and football. Recently, many films are shot here and one of my friends got the opportunity to be in the movie though he has no dialogues. So there are tons of opportunities available in different fields you just have to make sure that you don't blink your eyes. The campus is located in Knowledge Park 3 in Greater Noida. The main market is just ten minutes away. The campus has tons of eating options available according to your budget at every corner. My favourite was Egg Maggi which the shop right outside Mandela hostel serves. The University has different libraries for different disciplines. All of them have a good collection of books and magazines from Harvard to Frontline at your disposal. If you are a student here you can’t miss the nightlife the ambience becomes quite good with lights everywhere so you won't miss out on those Instagram worthy photos. Also chorus the annual fest is home to big singers and DJs from India and abroad so that's a treat to be a part of.
