MIT Academy of Engineering M.Tech Review By Vijaya Kapse

My experience at MIT Academy of Engineering was something that I will always be in debt for at that college. After 2-3 years, remembering the days when I was doing my masters as MIT is a bit nostalgic and fun as well, going on a memory ride. Those teachers that we used to find strict at that time, now after these years, working in the real world, I realize how important that was. They always motivated us towards higher studies. The college life, the hostel life is some of the precious phases a student can have. My time there was short but it taught me many things. I studied my masters in MIT. The campus is very pleasant and calming due to the lawns and greenery.

Academically, MIT Alandi Engineering College is very good in most ways. In classrooms, teachers were used to focus on our ongoing syllabus while in practical sessions; it was all about practical knowledge. The faculty didn't conduct many class tests, but still we got our way through it. After my graduation at Ram Meghe Institute of Technology, I enrolled in MIT for my masters. We were assigned projects in both the year of our master's course. I honestly think that the faculty should assign more projects and that too soon after the first year. The faculty were helpful in clearing our doubts but they should have also assigned us some more assignments. Because that's what cheers the creative minds of the students, and helps them to find their own way through the problem.

The faculty at MIT were helpful and strict at the same time. I liked the teaching style of the teachers. It was kind of very understanding. They used to explain most cliche topics within simple words which were easy to understand and remember as well. They used to answer all of our doubts without judging. We are supposed to self study throughout the whole syllabus. But the faculty were always helpful in solving our doubts. I am not complaining about the teaching, but some days it was just PPT reading, that's all. The faculty always encouraged us in engaging various competitions, hackathons, etc. What more would a student want if nothing than helpful and cheering teachers.

MIT gives exposure to more than 200 companies to all the branches of students. The placements are satisfactory though. The placements are 100% at that time. It is not simple when it comes to placements. Every student has to work hard to compete with other students to get placed in a good reputed company. MIT has a good placement record. The number of companies coming for placement is increasing year by year. Getting placed in one of the companies that come for recruitment is a dream for many students. I too got placed in one of the companies but soon after I found a more appealing prospect that led me to work in another company.

During my masters at MIT, I lived in a hostel. I must say, the MIT hostel is very well maintained and kept clean. The hostel has a mess too, but I didn't like the food there. Except for Sunday evenings, the mess provides food every day. Without the permission of the warden, those who don't live in the hostel cannot enter the hostel. This, I liked the most, that at the hostel they provided students not only with staying facilities but also their safety too. The rooms were big, clean and spacious. There were different categories considering the rooms provided by the hostel. I enjoyed myself very much during my stay at the hostel. It's true what people say, hostel life teaches you a lot of lessons. There is a common area at the ground floor of the hostel where we used to play and relax in the evening and night.

The classrooms are very well maintained and big. The college buildings are kept clean on a regular basis and renovated after a certain interval of time. The college has a temple in the campus area. MIT has a lot of greenery and lawns on the campus. The college has a big sports ground on which different sports events are taken. MIT campus also has my favorite place i.e. library. It has been home to a tremendous amount of books over different subjects. Students can read, study in the library for as much time they want. The college has a canteen too. The food there is good but I really don't like the mess food in general. Most of my friends liked the food they served at canteen.

MIT Alandi Campus is amazing and it is very beautiful. The campus has a temple which truly reflects the positivity in the campus. After a long day at college, even roaming around the campus was a refreshing and favorite activity of mine. Whenever I felt low or used to have self doubts, I used to sit near the temple for some time. It didn't give solutions to my problems but gave me the energy to bear them. Different events, festivals, cultural days that we used to celebrate in college were the ones that kept our energy going on through our masters. We were shown movies, plays in the auditorium of the college. All our cultural programmes used to happen at the auditorium. The part I loved about college infrastructure was the greenery it has
all over the campus.
