IILM has also opened its branch in Knowledge Park, Greater Noida. The institute has a strong foothold in NCR and this branch was the need of the hour as Greater Noida doesn’t have many strong MBA institutes. One thing is clear that entrances or the GD, PI that we went through was just yet another drill that the institute went through. Among all the IILM institutes ours may not be the one that has added feathers to its illustrious list because the college quality in terms of intake is rather too poor. 80% of the students were B.Com or BBA students from Greater Noida institutes itself. One doesn’t need any introduction to how the colleges are at Greater Noida. One thing that IILM Greater Noida made sure was that we were made to learn in uncertainty and Covid-19 was one such uncertainty in our lives which IILM GSM students already varied of. How to prepare for the worst was the biggest drill that IILM has taught us. IILM was great and only if they can maintain criteria in filtering the students the college will register its name in one of the top B-Schools of NCR.

Digital classrooms with projectors and smart blackboards were a whole new experience. The uniform was a curse as students had to wear the uniform and the I-Cards. In MBA colleges such strict rules were a little harsh. However, the studies were the face value of the college and it was great. The extra classes and extra subjects were add-ons at IILM. The optional share market classes and Harshad Mehta case study was the one which we did in the group during the 1st semester was something I can never forget. We were provided great insights and case studies which were a considerable part of the studies were long as we were left with no time for ourselves.

Top class would be an understatement. All the faculty members were IIM or graduated from Foreign Universities. The smart studies were adopted in foreign universities and the same were at IILM and all that because of the able faculty that it had. The faculty members brought some modules for us that were inspired by top global business schools such as Wharton and Stanford business schools. The faculty groomed us on how to adapt to the tough corporate world. The attitude of the faculty was the driving factor for us as I was in awe of some of my teachers.

IILM Greater Noida Placements were close to 90% and FMCG and Auto were the main companies that saw us through. I did an internship at Hero Moto Corp and luckily they hired me after that. Likewise, many more students had the same experience as we were groomed well to be industry-ready before the final year started. This is one of the biggest achievements of IILM. Almost 50+ companies were present and Auto being the most prominent one. Not just auto but auto ancillaries also showed deep interest in IILM institutes. From what I have heard is that IILM has decided to even do placements at one of its centers as IILM Gurgaon has the best placement record while our college students didn’t get the package worth over 10LPA. For PGDM students this has to be the benchmark and with the kind of students, the college has produced the average which was 7-8 in our times will strike the 10LPA mark soon.

Since our campus is the only IILM campus that has a residential MBA program, I had to stay at the hostel facility provided by the college. I was living just 10 miles from the college and sometimes even went for dinner to home but at night I had to rush back as the campus gate was closed by 10 pm. The hostel rooms were large and only single and double occupancy was allowed. The furnishing of both the rooms was different. The rooms were indeed apartments and had proper furnishing from the kitchen to bathrooms everything was great. The college canteen was the source of food as there was no separate mess but Yellow Chilli, Dominos, Nine to Eleven, and Pind Baluchi were all nearby and from 7 to 10 pm, you will find IILM students in those restaurants. I don’t think it even needs to be mentioned but the security outside the apartment was 24*7.

The college was near the Taj Expressway and that tells the entire story of the college infrastructure. The college was beautiful outside and was equally beautiful inside. Student’s lounges, library, and a small playfield were there at the campus. Besides the hostel facility, one thing that is worth mentioning is its auditorium. With a seating capacity of almost 800 students which was much less than the strength of the college, it was handy when guest lectures were held. The institute also has a business center where virtual business tours happened.

IILM Greater Noida Campus life was hectic from 9am to 6pm as we couldn’t even move our back outside the college campus. Not just we were occupied but had to run a day in advance to make sure we had some time for ourselves the next day. It was just in our dreams as we were bombarded with new assignments and we could never get over them. It was 6 to 9 when we had our time and did things we loved to do. The life at IILM campus was fun and an experience of a lifetime.
