OUTR - The best State Government Technical College of Odisha

Overall Rating
OUTR (Odisha University of Technology and Research) formerly CET (College of Engineering and Technology) is one of the best state government technical university of Odisha. It is located in Bhubaneswar, near Khandagiri. If you look for overall review then it would be 7.5 out of 10. I am a 1st year mechanical student. Here the teachers are very cooperative and helpful. So if you are not getting a seat in any NIT OR IIT then you can prefer OUTR.
 

Academics Rating
The academic regulations are very strict. You have to maintain at least 75 percent attendance in each subject. The academic fees are around 35k per year for normal courses and 70k per year for SSC courses. General courses include civil, mechanical, electrical, ECE, and SSC.
 

Faculty Rating
There is sufficient faculty for every branch. The teachers are experienced and skilled. They are friendly and supportive. The class duration is 1 hour and class timing is 9 to 5. There will be no class on Saturday and Sunday. The teaching quality is very good here if compared to other government institutes.
 

Placement Rating
The overall placement is very well. And average salary is 6 to 7 lakh per annum. But in the branch like CSE and IT, the average package is higher than core branch like electrical and mechanical.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 4 hostels inside the college campus. Two hostels are for boys and two for girls.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is about 100 acres of area but most of the part is covered by the trees. Now the infrastructure is developing. So all they are now being converted to smart class rooms and there is a new auditorium is under construction.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is very good. There is a lot to enjoy in the festive season. The annual function X Tasy is very enjoyable. And also there are other functions that are organised throughout the year. The Engineer’s Cup is the Biggest event in sports. So you can enjoy the college life no doubt. But you have to attend the classes as below 75 percent attendance they will not allowed you to sit in the exam.

    Odisha University of Technology and Research, Bhubaneswar, is one of the best State government’s Technical Universities in Odisha. Its fees are low and placement is good. It provides lots of Opportunities to the students. Facilities are very supportive and always ready to help the students. Main factor to choose this college is Bhubaneswar, as it is the capital of Odisha and currently new software companies as well as many core companies are opening their branches here.     I was focused to do my B.Tech from govt. colleges as my rank was low. But I want to go to a good college so I heard that this college is the no.1 government college in Odisha that gives the best placement. So that’s the reason to choose this college.     As per my JEE MAINS rank I got EE, so I joined this college. I don't have an interest in software so I went for core branch. Electrical is the oldest core branch of OUTR, so everyone interested can join. Experience is pretty good till now. OUTR has a nice campus and faculties are co operative.... Read Full Review
