The college Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad is very beautiful campus with full of greenery all over the campus. I have chosen this college because it is vast in size of 400 acres. Various extracurricular activities are also organised in the college. It is established in the year 1926 and converted into IIT (ISM).

There are three academic blocks which are available for the classes, laboratory and workshops for all students. New Lecture Hall Complex (NLHC) is used for the classes of first year students and New Academic Complex is used for laboratory and workshops and there is other one petroleum block which is used for the classes of second, third and fourth year students. For Master of Technology students the classes will be organised in New Academic Complex. To enter this college we have to give JEE Main exam and JEE Advanced and score a good rank in it. My motive is to score a good CGPA and change my branch to Computer Science and Engineering and get a better job.

The faculties who are teaching us are very experienced and very helpful and even some of the professors got awards like Padma Bhushan and Padma Sri. At starting there was only one branch called Mining Engineering and now we have total fifteen branches including Masters of Technology. This is all because of the best professors in IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad has very good placements. The highest package in under graduation is 55.75 LPA which is acquired in Computer Science and Engineering. The percentage of students placed after under graduation is 82.13%. The average package for UG students is 19.44 LPA and median package is 15.95 LPA.

There are total off nine hostels in IIT Dhanbad. Each student is allotted with a double sharing room with a study table and a chair. There is Ethernet connectivity for twenty four hours and there is 24 hours water facility including hot water. They provide a bed and a cupboard to keep our personal belongings safe and secure.

The infrastructure of all the hostels is not good because those are too old. But the laboratory and workshops are good and they are properly equipped with instruments. There is a historical building nearby that is known as heritage building.

The campus life of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is very nice. The UG student vs. faculty ratio is 21:1. There are annulling festivals in IIT (ISM) like SRIJAN festival which is the largest cultural festival in the college. Concetto it is Technical festival which is useful to show the technical skills of students. And Parakram which is sports festival. There are clubs on Public speaking and Career development which are useful to improve our communication skills.
