IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

Campus of IIT Dhanbad is around 400 acres. The buildings are also nice and also our institute is about complete its 100 years so very proud to be in this institute. Our institute has one health center, one cricket ground, one football ground, basketball court, and a building named SAC (Students activity center) where the rest of the sports like badminton court and all the indoor sports facilities are there as well as music room where our music club practices, dancing room, etc are present. As I love cricket so my favorite place in the cricket ground.

Enjoying campus and in the fest it feels like that we are at some good place. There are two fests: ‘Concetto’, a Tech fest, ‘Srijan’, a Cultural fest, and one sports meet named ‘Parakram’. There are clubs for almost every activity like dancing, singing, and even tech clubs like coding & development, animation & game, and designing clubs are there. Even finance related clubs are also there. There are almost 1000 students in first year. We have access to Wi-Fi every time throughout the campus at a good speed. Classrooms have proper ventilation system and every classroom has a digital board. The library is Asia’s 2nd largest technical library. We have a health centre, which is free for all, and it has all necessary facilities. There are also different shops and cafeterias at the ground floor of the library, which provides a good place to hang out, and are open until late night.

There is quite an enormous amount of engaging events for students as well as employees, which are fascinating. These events also help in increasing the connection of the students especially with the alumni who are at great position in this world. We have many fests as well as clubs, which help in interacting. The infrastructure of Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad is mostly old school but as of now it is also getting some more new modern buildings like a new lecture hall and auditorium is expected to be complete on 2026 December. Our institute has world class library infrastructure and how can we forget the old heritage building of our campus. Also a beautiful garden is also present in front of the old heritage building. Infrastructure of our current lecture hall complex is not up to the mark as compared to top 7 IITs also it doesn’t have the AC facility, but the overall lecture hall facilities are good. Canteens are present at the ground floor of every hostels and there are many spots for food inside the campus such as RD canteen, Ruby mart, Dominos, Mezbaan, Juice box, Barista, Celebration, Main Canteen, etc. Our institute also has excellent health facilities, a separate Health Centre building is provided for all the health related issues and also our campus has two ambulances which can be called at any time when you need it, all the medicine bill is paid by institute itself. Our institute has decent facilities for sports. Our institute has two major sporting ground, one gymkhana ground and also basket ball, volleyball, tennis ground separately; also we got a swimming pool in the campus. Facilities are present for almost every sport in our institute like Football, Cricket, Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Table tennis, swimming and athletics, Squash, and badminton. So, overall our institute has got a decent infrastructure for overall development of a student in the institute.

The overall campus life that you get to experience at the institute is really worth experiencing. You will get attached to the institute and people very quickly and won't feel like going away from this life. You will be forced to get out of your comfort zone a lot of times and you will have all sorts of experiences here. Every student you meet in the institute is interesting in their own way and you can learn something from everyone. There are various clubs which you can join based on your liking, skills, or interest. To name a few there are dancing clubs, singing club, lots of technical clubs for coding, robotics, or development, drama club, and many more. There are a lot of extracurricular activities like yoga, sports, etc. Every year a technical fest "Concetto" and a socio-cultural fest "Srijan" are celebrated. The fests lasts for three days and everyday has some events planned for students. A gaming center is setup during fest season, various events are organised by different clubs wherein every student can participate, famous personalities are also called to institute for performing, and most importantly an EDM night takes place on the last day of fest which is really the most amazing thing you can ever be a part of.Read Full Review
