K J Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce B.A Review By Vidhi Solanki

It has been 2 years since I am studying in KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce. Somaiya doesn't only give you a degree but helps you grow in many aspects! KJ Somaiya Arts and Commerce admission process a simpler and non hectic unlike other colleges. The overall teachings you get there are priceless. The campus, the faculty, the infrastructure and the friendly environment you get in Somaiya is really worth your teen and youth hood. The fests and other cultural activities that take place play a major role. Somaiya could be the best part of your life, only if you stay active in college! There are many students in the college who come from Nepal, Srilanka and Dubai - which addresses that the education you get in KJSAC is actually worth, students across the globe are keen to join.

The college faculty has planned method of teaching and learning. Somaiya obviously comes under autonomy, which is a huge benefit and our professors know exactly what is to be taught according to the examination point of view. I am pursuing bachelors in arts there and the very passionate professors have made the course very easy for us. The professors have made teaching and learning methods are more in the favour of students!

I really want to praise the faculty of KJSAC, I was a commerce student, I shifted from commerce to arts in first year and it was never difficult for me to understand any topic, it is going all smoothly and all thanks to the amazing faculty KJSAC has, despite of having almost 100 students in a batch student never felt left out or bored! The whole Somaiya campus has a huge number of professors and all of them have some common best qualities, that all of them are so enthusiastic and passionate teachers.

Somaiya doesn't bother much about placements as compared to other colleges. I am still pursuing graduation but my seniors mentioned that the packages they offer aren't worth it and I think you could get better options outside. Intershala has a huge tie up with Somaiya College though.

They charge you 11k per month tentatively. Hostel isn't that worth honestly, you need to share a room with 3 people including you. And the hostel mess offers you meals 4 times a day! There's one huge common room in the hostel where all the hostel students gather and bond! The hostels environment is also very friendly, all the students are supportive and friendly as well. The hostel environment teaches you socialising, sharing and coping up with students all over the globe. Other students, just like me who don't stay in hostels, aren't allowed to enter the hostel premises; I got to know some of these things from my friend who stays there.

The college comprises 3 big canteens, more than 7 libraries and 1 open library! Any Somaiya student/ teacher can access any library from the whole campus there are absolutely no limitations to gain knowledge. All the classrooms are availed with projector and white board, which means that Somaiya follows both traditional and electronic learning patterns. The point to highlight is that the management college of Somaiya has air conditioned classrooms. Whole campus is garnished with greenery, people often prefer to sit in Kuchtee Haveli, watermelon seat and many such places, Somaiya gives a very friendly atmosphere, you can sit and study or just chill with your friends anywhere in the college campus!

The campus of Somaiya is completely secured, it has many security guards all around the college and campus. Each person may be a student, professor or non-teaching staff - everyone is equally welcoming and ready to guide. Somaiya helps many different fests and events throughout the year which keeps the campus and the students from all the college unite. It helps you learn and evolve, and also helps you grow as a person!
