Admissions and Fee Structure at KJSAC Mumbai

I studied at KJ Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce (KJSAC) for five years, from my junior college years until I graduated. My overall experience at this college was nothing short of exceptional. The college provides incredible exposure and those who take advantage of the opportunities available can truly make most of their time here. What drew me to this college was its ability to offer a perfect balance. It is an excellent choice for students pursuing professional courses like CA, CS, CFA, etc. alongside their graduation degree, as there are no strict attendance requirements, making it easier to manage both academics and professional studies. It also stands out for its lively campus life, which adds to the overall enriching experience.

I pursued B.Com degree for my graduation as I was also completing a professional course alongside, making it easier to maintain a balance. KJSAC Mumbai is among top reputed institutions, requiring a good score for admission, though a Guajarati minority quota is available. The admission process is smooth, one simply needs to fill out the Mumbai University form, the college admission form, and submit the necessary documents. B.Com is a three-year program divided into six semesters, with final exams held at the end of each semester. Assignments throughout the term contribute to internal assessments.

The fee for this three year degree is taken year wise. There is an increment in the fee every year. During my time, the first year fee is Rs. 12,000, for second year it was Rs. 15,000, and for third year it was Rs. 18,000. The fee included tuition fee, admission registration, and all the other charges applicable.

The faculty members teaching at this college are rightly qualified, such as subjects like Income Tax, Indirect Tax, Accounting, Costing are taught by the teachers who themselves are Chartered Accountants/ Qualified Professionals. This helps students understand concepts better. The teachers make sure that lectures are engaging. Students are free to ask their doubts to their professors freely. The college uses both traditional and modern method for teaching as and when required. The professors are humble and approachable and can be reached out easily.

There is a placement cell present in the college by the name ‘KJSAC Placement Cell’. The placement cell helps students in every way possible. There is a structured process in which cell helps the students get jobs. Placements are held in the last year of graduation. The students who want to get the job through on campus placement can join placement groups available and stay updated. Seminars are conducted by placement body to keep the students motivated and updated. To help students get through it, mock interviews are held in a very professional manner. Companies like KPMG and Deloitte come to the college for recruitments.

The college provides hostel facilities in the campus itself.

The campus of KJSAC Mumbai is very huge in result of which students experience a great campus life. The college itself is very large and the classrooms are spacious as well. Each classroom can accommodate 120 students. All the facilities are available at the college campus. Somaiya campus consists of seven canteens altogether, badminton court, swimming pool, running track, and everything that one can think of. The campus also consists of auditorium, amphitheater, first aid room, Xerox center, etc. My favorite place in the campus is amphitheater as one can chill there and be relaxed.

The overall campus life at this college is the best as one can make the most of it. The college crowd consists of everyone and is just the best. There is always some event or activity happening in the college/campus. There are many different committees, clubs, and societies in the college and students can be part of any as per their wish. All of these also add to a better college life and personal development. There are also many fests that happen in college one such fest is symphony, which is also very famous.
