G H Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology is located in Nagpur and is the second best engineering colleges in Nagpur after VNIT. My college is ranked 67th by the NAAC when I passed out, i.e. in the year 2017. The best thing of this college is it Autonomous and thus has a great faculty. The admission process is hassle-free and easy. All you need to have is a good percentile to get into this reputed college.
I took up electronics and telecommunication as my masters subject. I was quite satisfied by the teachings and the teachers also covered the syllabus well. I did get a job after doing my masters from this college. The reputation of the college is also one of the reasons behind getting a job. Overall, I’d give 9 on 10 for the academics of this college.
The faculty is strict when it comes to assignments and lectures. Otherwise they are very kind and supportive. I’ve had a nice experience with the faculty in my masters course. The course syllabus is advanced as the college is autonomous. The faculty is well-trained to clear all our doubts whenever it is needed. The professors use unique techniques to teach the students in to order to make things clearer. The academic qualification of the faculty is decent with masters and some even hold PhDs.
Though the placements of this college are average, you won’t regret studying in this college. In the course of two years, I believe that I have evolved as a better person in life. The lowest package offered in this college was around 3 LPA. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Zensar, Capgemini, Infosys, and some other companies come to the campus to recruit students in their final years. Masters students can also apply for the placement drive. Around 70% of the students get placed every year from the campus itself. Others don’t have to be sad because the college gives a lot to the students on the basis of which one can get placed in a good company after passing out also. Students are also well-trained before appearing for the interviews. The training is provided by Ashok Leyland’s training centre.
Our college had a great hostel facility but is considerably expensive. The security is excellent, no one can come and go out without permission. Hence, it is safe to stay in the hostel. The hostel is for both boys and girls.
The college building is quite new and built using excellent material, the shine of the building tells that. The classrooms are spacious and have really good sunlight plus ventilation. There’s Wi-Fi in the college area for the benefit of the faculty and students. The playground is not that good and hence the sports activities are negligible. The library has the capacity to seat 150 to 200 students at a time. The labs are also well-equipped and workshop area is also good. Everything is satisfactory, nothing to grumble about. The overall infrastructure is good enough having a nice canteen too. Another add-on is there is a Xerox centre inside the campus itself which aids the students to print study material.
The campus life was okayish, not that great. We had a technical fest named Technowave which was held at a national level. There were lots of activities and fun events which are organised by this college and the community guys play a vital role in the arrangements. I’ve had some beautiful memories in the campus during my masters years.
