Internships & Career Paths at Wilson College for B.Com Student

It is an excellent college with a strong department that has recently become autonomous. Infrastructure and fests were the best part of this college. My campus life was very fulfilling. I learnt a lot during my academic years.

The exam structure includes questions based on 10 marks and it depends how you answer the question. You have to write the answers to the point otherwise you would not be getting any marks. The curriculum is also planned and designed with the objective that everything should be learned properly by the students. Exams are conducted semester-wise. CIA and internal practicals are held.

The fee structure is quite reasonable and affordable for all students as it is just Rs. 8,000 for BA students. It is really good if compared to other colleges which are quite high.

Our teachers were well-qualified and knowledgeable in their fields.

Placements were the most important factor on any campus. Many biotechnological companies and teaching options are available at Wilson College. Our college provides internships to first-year students based on their skills. Placements are good and interviews are conducted for internships in the college itself. Companies offer good internships. Only 50 to 55% students were placed in my course, B.Com. The highest package was of approximately Rs. 9,00,000 and the lowest were of Rs. 2,00,000. Top recurring companies were Nestle, Red Bull, and TCS. Around 60% of students got internship in Tata, TCS, and many more.

The hostel provides accommodation in the form of 20 single rooms, 5 double sharing rooms, 8 triple-sharing rooms and 1 quadruple-sharing room. Electricity is provided 24 hours, 7 days a week. Residents can use their personal electronic appliances which consumes reasonable electricity. Aqua guard cooler is available. Guards are employed for the night and hostel security employed during the day. Laundry services are provided. There are also washing machines which can be booked for use one day in advance. Lockers are provided on a sharing basis. A resident is allowed take one late pass a week and one stay over (night out) per month. The hostel forms a student committee who take an active part in administrational activities of the hostel. Mackichan Hall Mess serves both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian meals. The kitchen is equipped with modern equipments and great care is taken when it comes to hygiene. The hostel library is open 24 hours and consists of many interesting books, newspapers, and magazines which the students can borrow. Internet facility is available to students. Students are also allowed to use their laptops and personal connections.

Many facilities and proper computer labs are available. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the college and library has all the textbooks and reference books. Many novels and books, other than academics, are also present for the students who are passionate about reading. Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, AV rooms, a girls’ common room, and a library. The library has a separate women cell. The classrooms are spacious and have good ventilation. The food served in the canteen is very good. The hostel is available in our college. Its rooms and food are good.

The annual fest is Hope. A lot of fests take place during January conducted by the Chemistry department, Commerce department, Physics department and various others. There are also a lot of clubs such as Road Red club and NSS club. In sports, Wilsons came 3rd which means a massive respect for sports like football, basketball and many more activities. This college helped students to brighten their future rather than letting it go down the drain.
