Placements are crucial but at SIMSREE educating the right way was even important. They have various PG courses and all of them have the same entrance criteria but the score criteria differ. I wanted MMS but my scores could only fetch me PGDM but was quite happy as both the courses were affiliated with Mumbai University. My answer might be long but I will state the obvious and truth because SIMSREE is I believe is at par with NMIMS or JBIMS in terms of placements. You ask 100 and 99 will say they are doing PG to corner the placement issue. SIMSREE has addressed that with conviction as SIMSREE’s parent college Sydenham College is one of the oldest colleges of Mumbai and therefore has a long list of companies that have always backed the potential of Sydenham students. One thing that comes with a guarantee is one can fuel their career with many growing opportunities at SIMSREE. I am sorry for comparing JBIMS with SIMSREE but I have compared that in terms of placement not in terms of ROI. The fee difference between JBIMS and SIMSREE has a daylight difference. JBIMS charge only 80k a year while SIMSREE charges 400K.

SIMSREE don’t believe in imparting the knowledge written in books but have always believed in getting the case studies ready from or own perspectives. Every week we were handed the case study which was discussed in class and the best ones were also applauded for their efforts. This was a kind of boost or motivation that lit up the classes. It was fun as the trimester system was new but was fun because we had much-needed breaks in between. SIMSREE bolstered us with notes and submissions that daily investing 2 hours in traveling seemed a tough job after the first year.

They were outstanding but were boring at the same time. Would come and read the notes and at the end will ask any doubts students. As management students, we seriously had no right to ask questions because if we do we will be straightway cornered for extra classes during the weekend. That suggests that were quite strict. Some of them also brought their job anger at the college because they were working in corporate and 4 pm lectures were often scheduled for 7 pm. The classes never ended on time and once it passed 7 pm we only wished that let them take extra time because catching a train from Churchgate between 6 pm to 9 pm was impossible.

PGDM, MMS, and other courses students had almost the same opportunities but PGDM students were ranked just below the MMS students. Their placement was in the range of 10-12 LPA while for PGDM it dropped to 8-9 LPA. Not many students or the coaching classes are aware that these are the average placements at SIMSREE and therefore rank SIMSREE at the bottom of their preferences. Largely banks, realty, and pharma companies offered us jobs in their organizations. Pharma companies were having tough times after Donald Trump came in power and for the revival they sought services of SIMSREE students. If you are only interested in placements then also SIMSREE is right up there.

Sydenham has a quota in the government hostel next to main building and PG students are also given preference as well. However, it is not meant for local students and therefore I didn’t even qualify to apply for the hostel. During the second year, 3 students including me rented a flat near the college because burning time in traveling was taking a lot of energy and in management studies, there’s no room for it. Colaba is the costliest area of Mumbai and therefore I won’t say one of the costliest because that would be a safe answer. ROI and all have to be calculated after what u spent on the fees and for your boarding and lodging.

That’s poor and I am sorry but it’s poor. The building is old and Sydenham has changed the interiors but the exterior needs a look. The location is one of the best as you will only find students from morning till evening. There are a couple of colleges next to SIMSREE and the student’s presence and talks made life at the college quite interesting. The facilities for PG students were separate from junior college and UG college students. We had a computer lab and a separate small library. The canteen and the small ground were common but I didn’t play a single volleyball match as we had breaks between the lectures but those were also spent in labs and libraries.

This I would rate highly because students made the area full of colors and exchanging thoughts with them was the best time-pass. Many students from other states had their stories to share and there was a student union that made sure that they never feel outsiders. The atmosphere at the college was friendly as all 60 PGDM students shared the same what’s app group which was active till the time we passed out. The 2nd year was rather more exciting than the 1st one as we had more training sessions than the classes. SIMSREE is a great choice and I would highly recommend the students to go for it.
