Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research & Entrepreneurship Education Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Mumbai

Even though getting into an institute like SIMSREE felt very special, there was always a concern about the hostel facilities. Getting into a PG would definitely work out to be more expensive, so I had been praying for decent hostel provisions. It must be my good luck that I secured a hostel accommodation and had to pay only INR 1,00,000/- for both accommodating and food. The hostel rooms were on twin-sharing basis with provisions such as a wardrobe, beds and mattresses, study tables and racks for storage purpose. Common amenities included washrooms, mess and laundry services. Not to forget, the delicious food that was served at the mess, which might get repetitive, but no one can deny that it was high in taste.Read Full Review

Sydenham has a quota in the government hostel next to main building and PG students are also given preference as well. However, it is not meant for local students and therefore I didn’t even qualify to apply for the hostel. During the second year, 3 students including me rented a flat near the college because burning time in traveling was taking a lot of energy and in management studies, there’s no room for it. Colaba is the costliest area of Mumbai and therefore I won’t say one of the costliest because that would be a safe answer. The Mumbai University’s government hostel is located behind the college and the college has its seats reserved. One has to approach the admin department and get a letter from them. The eligibility criteria are simple as the hostel facility was provided purely to the students who came from other states and local students had no option to stay at the hostel. I stayed with my parents in Kandivali and therefore during the second year, I along with some of my friends rented an apartment in Colaba so that we can cut the traveling time.Read Full Review
