Poornima College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Yash Rathi

My title doesn’t tell the whole story as the college is ranked high but on what grounds is something that I couldn’t figure out in my 4 years of engineering at the college. On a serious note, the Poornima Engineering College is hell and I am writing it anonymously because the group is quite powerful and you will find many positive reviews and testimonials here and there about the college but trust me they are all fake. I will give a fact check that will justify what I am saying is true. Luckily I have to review it on various parameters and will open up all the slots provided. I was just saved from my life getting spoiled and it’s a request that don’t spoil yours. First I paid donations to get the seat there and then the kind of treatment which is been given is to the student is the worst you will ever see. Students are nothing but a piece of shit and teachers are like God because if you question them or argue with them means you are arguing with God. Please don’t waste your money or time at this awful institution.

Initially, when I was scolded for not being regular at the college, I was like, the college really cares but then I realized this is to show the parents that they have sent their children to the best college on earth. Student attendance is compulsory but the rules are different for the teachers. They can get stuck with whatever and as I have said nobody can question not even HOD or the top brass of the group. PCE being the flagship college of the group should have set the template but on the other hand, they have made it obvious that stay away from this group college’s because it’s nothing but a mere waste of time and money.

I am sorry but I hope I am not raising questions on God if I am reviewing about them. God, please forgive me but I can’t call such humans God who wants to play with the future of students. They may be knowledgeable but passing the knowledge requires different skills. Not all the best players have become the best coaches and the late Diego Maradona is a prime example of that. I wish they knew how to teach as their degrees and knowledge will be of no use to us until they teach us how to study and go about the subjects.

Pick up Times, Rajasthan Patrika, or whatever newspapers and you will see the placements graph going higher and higher by the year. Last year during the lockdown I saw that someone from the college has bagged the placement worth 28 lakhs. I will become a saint and leave my career behind if this is true. Hardly any industry visits the campus forget and the 100% placement guarantee at Poornima is the biggest myth than any in this era. Stop fooling as not more than 30% of people have jobs from the campus and that too in a range of 4-5 lakhs.

Poornima group has hostels for boys and girls. The boy’s hostel was outside the campus and the girl’s hostel was inside the campus itself. That’s it as I don’t know anything else about the hostel.

Poornima Engineering College along with other colleges of the group is on the same campus. The classrooms are big as our branch had 180 students and all of them were fused in one class. I hope they knew that they can divide that into sections so that it can favor students because attending 180 students is by no means a joke. Anyways moving forward the college has a huge lawn and is beautiful. The college library is big enough but you will hardly find students there as the notes are provided in the classes and one just have to refer them. The labs were outshined as they had the latest set of equipment and computers. The college has an ICICI bank ATM on the campus and all the basic requirements can be availed from areas near the college. The college sports ground hardly has any grass but students still managed to sweat it out in the heat and started playing football or cricket as soon as the college ended. The college also has separate gyms for boys and girls. The infrastructure of the college was neither awesome nor bad but was good enough.

Most of the students had a life settled beyond the campus and they were least concerned. Some of us planned for higher studies and that is how we went about the business. The college does give an engineering feel as the technical fest is hosted every year where we had to showcase the projects. The cultural fest was again subjective as boys and girls can’t dance if the steps involve an element of touching. Thus everything on the college campus had a reservation tag attached to it. No freedom in anything and after a point we all started accepting the way things were because we knew this is not under our control. If you can accept the things and be a night watchman who can play alongside an established player (Faculty) then yes the college may not be a bad option for you.
