I feel lucky to be a student of Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai. I have spent a few years of my learning phase of my life in this college but have thousands of thoughts and memories about it. I feel that this college has not only helped in my education but has played an important role in the overall development of a student. Along with education here we get a lot of different opportunities to polish our personalities and experience a number of different things. The college phase of life is very precious and every student has a lot of expectations from their college and being a part of this college will never disappoint them. SIMSR is best in each and every aspect whether its placement opportunities or infrastructure or campus or hostel. This college provides us with the best of everything.

Most of the students, including me, believe that the academics part is one of the finest faculties in our institute. To expand the knowledge boundaries of students, different types of projects are assigned to the students throughout the year. These different types of projects help to maintain the interest of students and also help to learn them in different ways. Along with these weekly tests, presentations and other live projects are also carried out for the students. Our institute has a well planned education system that not only teaches the students but helps them to learn in interesting and better ways.

The faculty of our department have the best and experienced teachers. All of them always stand in front to help their students in everything. Even the faculty has some fresher members but they always stand forward for their work. Overall the faculty includes experienced as well as fresher members who put their efforts together to grow up the ranking of the college.

Our college provides the best placement opportunities. Every year many reputed companies organise a recruitment event where they transparently select the best students for or placements. A lot of students get the opportunity to be recruited by top companies and start their career. Getting a good job in a place like Mumbai is not a very easy task, however the placement opportunities that are provided by our institute help many students to start their career just after college.

Our institute has two separate hostels for girls and boys. The name of the girls hostel is Maitreyi and the name of the boys hostel is Sandipani. All the facilities are provided to the hostel students. The basic facilities like internet, activity rooms, a well equipped gym and laundromat. The hostel also has a big common area where all the host learners can spend time together. And this thing is not only for the enjoyment of students but they also learn to socialize with everyone. The hostels have a nice student mess where tasty, healthy food is provided. Also along with all the facilities safety is another factor that is taken care of. Internet connections are provided at the hostel. Along with all these medical facilities are also provided in the hostel. And regular health checkups are also conducted to make sure that the students are physically and mentally fit. Our college also takes care of our mental health and for that recreational facilities are also available where students can burst their stress.

The college is covered in a very big area and facilities are available everywhere. The college has a nice sports area for both indoor and outdoor sports with each and every necessary facility. A small well equipped gym is also there in our college. Our college has a big library where the students can peacefully spend their time studying, and reading magazines or newspapers. The library is fully computerized and has over 91000 books. The library also has a study area. Besides this the classrooms are big, well-equipped and air conditioned where students can comfortably study. A nice big canteen is also there and proper cleanliness and hygiene is maintained. A big auditorium is also there for conducting different seminars for functions. So overall the infrastructure of a college is quite good.

The campus area of our institute is covered in about 60 acres. Conference rooms and discussion rooms are also there. The Wi-Fi facility is also enabled in the campus. The college has a great campus where we can find different opportunities for our development and meet the better version of ourselves every time. Our institute has both pros and cons but I am satisfied with the facilities and opportunities and everything in our institute and being a student of this college is worth it.
