Motilal Nehru College (Evening) B.Com Review By C Tushar

My overall experience here was decent. The main reason for me to choose this college is because I have my coaching in the morning & also I got only 94% in my 12th boards. Also Motilal is better than other evening colleges as it was situated in main south campus. The crowd here is decent. Infrastructure & connectivity to public transportation is also good. Also one of the main reasons for me to choose this college was because till now the rule of 75% compulsory attendance was not implemented here. Although the college was not so good but I got some very good friends in this college. Also, our college has the best football team & very less fees, only 180-200 rupees per year.

B.Com (programme) course here has almost 120-130 seats available for students. There are 2 sections with 60-65 students in each class. It will get completed in 3 years with each year consisting of 2 semesters in it. In every semester, students have to study around 6-7 subjects. To get entry in Motilal, one has to give (CUET UG exam) and pass it with more than 700 marks. This course is for you if you want to pursue your career in field of accounting, finance, marketing, etc. The fees for B.Com program here in Motilal for 3 years is 24000 rupees only. The college also has some scholarships for ST/SC/OBC students.

Faculty members of the commerce department are good. Some of them are very experienced while some of them are new here & are less experienced. Some of them have done Ph.D & doctorate in their fields. They teach us through PDFs, notes given mostly on WhatsApp groups, and PPTs. Most of them take classes on regular basis & help students in every possible way they can. They are always ready to talk with students & guide them for their future. They teach us on normal black boards as our college doesn’t have any smart boards in any of the classrooms. Some of the teachers are so experienced & they have also guided us towards investment in stock market.

Currently, the Placement Cell of our college is not active. It has been inactive since the year of Covid & this is the biggest drawback of Motilal Evening College. Students don't get exposure to the industries & jobs here. They have to search for it on their own.

No, our college doesn't have the facility of hostel.

Infrastructure of our college is decent. It is not too good, neither too bad. Rooms here are big so that 50-60 students can easily sit there. Our college has one of the biggest libraries in DU circuit with almost 50-60 thousand books, journals, & magazines in it. We have a huge football ground & decent basketball court here. Our canteen is very good & big; it has lots of item in its menu. Our college doesn’t have an auditorium which is a biggest drawback. Also, classes here don’t have charging points which actually work & also don’t have AC.

My campus life here was great because I got some very good friends. I was in music society for 3 years which was my best decisions. If you want to enjoy your college life, meet good people & make good memories, I suggest you that you do join any of the 10-12 societies of our college. Crowd there is decent. Also, we have our annual fest Milaan every year in the month of April or May. College regularly holds educational events & seminars for students which I think is a great way to encourage & educate students. Overall, college life is good here. If you are going for any evening college, I would highly recommend you to choose Motilal Nehru Evening College.
