Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College is one of the affiliated colleges under University of Delhi and it is one of the best colleges in the East Campus of the University. The Admission Process is simple like any other college of Delhi University. You have to fill the registration form of the University and you can go to the college for admissions if you fit in the Cut off list. College also takes up admissions through DU-JAT for several courses. ECA and Sports quota are also accepted. College Management is cooperative and well organised.

I joined BA programme with Geography and Psychology as my discipline subjects. You can get in only through cut off lists of DU and common entrance examination DU-JAT. Although for the course that I joined, minimum 85% aggregate marks are required and there is no entrance test. Reason why I joined this course was because I wanted to pursue Psychology and this course gave me the same chance. The subjects are up to my expectations and although this course won't be helpful in job, but the syllabus is very well defined for further studies. You'll find several courses here which are not that common in other colleges of DU.

We have around 10-15 faculty members in department of Psychology as well as Geography separately. The least experience that a permanent faculty member of the college has is 15 years of teaching in university. The faculty is very well qualified with most of the members holding a Ph.D in their subjects and teaches everything very well. I don't have much clue about the total number of faculty members of the college as the college provides several courses.

Training and Placement cell of my college is very well functioning and organises several events to help the students understand what they want for their future. They also recently collaborated with Coursera and gave access to around 30,000+ courses for free, specifically to the students of my college. As far as I know, placement cell provides a good enough placement opportunity but as my course doesn't offer placement after graduation, I do not have much idea about it.

College doesn't provide any hostel facility.

My college stands in top 10 colleges of University of Delhi when it comes to infrastructure. College covers a huge area and stands right in front of Gokulpuri Metro Station. There are 2 academic blocks, 1 block specifically for library and another for co-curricular activities. Auditorium has a capacity of 250 students in one ago and the Canteen is huge as well. There is proper medical facility. My college also has a huge ground along with basketball and football court. There is also another small ground which is used by students. There is rose garden and eco garden as well.

Campus Life is over all very good. We celebrate almost all the festivals with proper joy. Elections are the first activity that takes place when the session starts and after that, there is always some or other celebration going on. NSS of the college organises Diwali Mela every year, then there are fests by departments as well as NCC Unit of the college. Annual fests also take place at the end of February or early March. Annual function of the college takes place every year in January in which students are rewarded for their exceptional Performances in their departments. Our college also provides courses like Social Work which are rare in the colleges of Delhi University. Being here, you won't regret a second.
