My B.Tech life at Kalasalingam

Overall Rating
Firstly, I like the college for the NIRF ranking 36 in 2024, I would definitely recommend to people who are looking for some great placement opportunities (self efforts required). When I joined the college, its rank was around 50's. I got good concession on the fees. I like its infrastructure and placements records. My seniors suggested this college for best experience at B.Tech.
 

Academics Rating
I also liked my 2018 curriculum, but the latest one is 2021 curriculum. The latest one focuses on the technical skill which can be acquired through working on minor and major projects. The students get a longer dedicated time for developing real-time projects which can be useful for developing technical knowledge and get better placement opportunities.
 

Faculty Rating
The worst part in my B.Tech life is the faculty present in the college, I would say only 30% faculties are friendly and encourage your ideas while doing projects while others won't even guide us and show their rude behavior. Mostly experienced faculties don’t stay in this college for more than 1 semester. So don't expect your faculties to be good.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have placement cell. It strives hard to bring many companies to college and they give vigorous trainings on aptitude and technical part. They will push you to every company until you get placed in at least one company. They also provide many internship opportunities in abroad as well. Placements usually happen during the end of 6th semester or 7th semester.
 

Hostel Rating
I stayed in my hostel for 2 years, hostel rules are strict than jail rules, no outside food, day scholars can't enter hostel, and the food is the worst. The ambience in the hostel and its mess is good. Usually good food is provided during fests but it's rare. People who don't eat spicy food cam survive here otherwise it is very difficult to sustain here.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is excellent from my point of view, but students don't utilize it well. We have a library and all the labs for physics, chemistry, mechanical, civil, and electrical. We have computer lab with good systems and decent specifications. But it all depends on your faculty teaching style. You can request the equipment for the project as well but you need to return back in the same condition with permission of your course teacher.
 

Campus Rating
The campus has many student clubs; most people like to participate in the events conducted by individual clubs at different time periods in a year. We also have NSS, NCC, sports, yoga, meditation, and other extracurricular activities. We have a big play ground used for multiple sports activities .Also fests are conducted with various events including inviting star guests from cinema industry.

    My experience was very good at my Institute; it was huge as campus hostels are provided just at the same place of the campus. You do not need to travel more than 200 meters for reaching it, there are many blocks here and the placements are also very nice.     My overall experience at this institute was not bad. This university brokers had came to my college for registrations when am in my intermediate 2nd year. After their presentation about this university attracts me so I have registered by paying the fee required after 3 months they called me to join in university. The main thing is there were all telugu people only there I came here to improve communication skills by speaking with other state people but the scene is different here.... Read Full Review
