Kirori Mal College B.A Review By Naveen Kumar

I am Naveen Kumar from the state of Haryana. I have done my schooling from a CBSE school. I was looking for a college campus in my nearby locality and I had heard about University of Delhi. So I researched on the procedure of getting admission in the university. I got to know about CUET and so applied. Here in the college campus I have a lot to know a lot to discuss with people of various locations all across the country.

I am pursuing my graduation in Geography (Hons). To confirm my seat in Kirori Mal College I had to pay ₹14075 only. Since I belong from OBC NCL category so I had to submit the concerned document online on CSAS portal of DU. I have opted Geography department due to my personal inclination towards geography and here I am very happy studying various sub disciplines of Geography.

Here we have to study various sub disciplines (papers) of geography in different semesters. And for each paper there are two or three professors. One of them has done his masters from a university of England. One has done his masters from reputed Jawahar Lal Nehru University. And almost each of remaining has done their graduation and masters as well from Kirori Mal College. Here I would like to share that in North campus of DU Kirori Mal College is the only college which provides geography as a course. No other North campus colleges except Miranda House which is a women college provide geography honors as a course.

I would like to share the information that I am currently in 1st year and 2nd semester exams are going on. So I haven't enquired for any placement yet. So, sorry I am not well informed with the specific information regarding the placement cell.

With all humility and respect I would like to register my complaint regarding residential facilities not only in Kirori Mal College but in all the DU colleges. We are heavily dependent on rooms, flat and PGs and for that we have to spend heavily on our living and food.

In our college there are multiple buildings dedicated for special department. For example we have Science block which includes all the classes for science and laboratories. We have Arts block. Many classes are equipped with ACs. We have multiple seminar rooms which facilitate our interaction with professionals from various fields. Besides we have sports complex, gyms, and most importantly libraries.

If I have to say my overall experience in the college campus in one word then I will say that it's really awesome. There are various clubs from each department who regularly organise fests (literature fest, book fest etc) and I regularly engage in some of them which really enhance my knowledge and develop my overall personality. Since I have been interested in sports so I use my college sports complex and I am thankful to our college and university administration for such great facilities and infrastructure.
