JNTUA College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Malle Sai Kalyan

My experience in JNTUA College of Engineering was wonderful. It is a great college to learn about the outer society, how to interact with people, how to respect elders, how to treat the opposite gender along with education, sports and fun filled activities. It is far better than any other private institution. The university gives freedom to explore education by providing a well equipped library. The departments conduct many interactive programs, which we can learn a lot from. Along with education, JNTUA has a big ground and the officials encourage students to participate in various sports activities. Many cultural programs are organised to encourage students in all aspects. The one thing which I love the most about JNTUA is the friends I got there, which are like my family. Those combined studies, trips, meet-ups, late nights, second show movies are so fun. It's so hard for me to leave JNTUA.

I'm from the department of Mechanical Engineering. To take admission into B.Tech at JNTUA one needs to clear the APECET exam. The process of allotment is based on web counseling by the government of Andhra Pradesh. I chose the Mechanical Engineering stream as it is evergreen, it has a bunch full of opportunities and I'm passionate in the field of automobiles and machinery. For the people who are dynamic enough to solve real engineering problems should choose Mechanical Engineering as their career path.

In my department we have 5 professors having M.Tech and Ph.D degrees. The assistant professors and faculties come to teach the subjects. But according to me engineering is all about self learning and JNTUA promotes self learning among the students. The college provides everything to learn and grown but it depends on the individual that how they use it.

Yes, we have a placement cell at JNTUA. The placement coordinator really tries to place all the students. In the COVID scenario almost more than 40 percent of final year students got placed in some top MNCs, which is far better than many private and deemed institutions. But I think the placement cell can be improved in some areas like training and preparing students for the campus placements in prior, so that the placement rate can be increased.

Our institution has a very good and clean hostel facility. Food is served separately for girls and boys in the hostel. Freshers are placed in separate hostels to avoid ragging by seniors. The second year students are placed in one separate hostel and the third and final year students are placed in another separate hostel. The hostels are not air conditioned, but they are very affordable compared to any other hostels in private institutions. Almost all non local students prefer to stay in the college hostels only. The food served here is average. Trust me, my entire bill was under 1 lakh rupees for my 4 years of course, which is like a boon for many poor and middle class students. The campus has sufficient space to operate all the academic and non academic activities. It has a big lecture hall where all the classes and examinations were held for B.Tech students. The institute got a big auditorium which is not less than a multiplex and it's my favourite part of the college. All the labs are well equipped, but some of the equipments are not working as they are old.

Overall my campus life at JNTUA was an interesting, interactive, fun filled and a great learning experience. One thing for sure is this institution will give freedom to its students but it all depends on the individuals to make use of it in the right way. If we can use in the right way we can grow bigger. The friends we make at this institution are for our lifetime. Even the seniors are very interactive. JNTUA is like a family and a chapter that can't be forgotten in my life.
