If I say EMPI Business School is the best business school in Delhi, people will say I am exaggerating. I will lay forward some key points for everyone understands of why EMPI Business School is the best. The college's location is tremendous as it is in the midst of the city. The campus may not be huge but is lush green. It has both a cordial and competitive learning atmosphere. The faculty members of the college are industry experts, and some of them are still working. Thus, they give a complete insight into the ongoing market practices and training. To make sure students have the best learning experience, activities, industrial tours, competitions, live projects, and guest lectures are arranged in quantity. All this made us learn the corporate life and market outside the college gate even before we were eligible to cross that. To take the stress out of studies, we were taken to an adventure trip to Rishikesh. We also had few sessions on that trip as we were taught how important venue marketing and seminars are as going to a different place helps us understand better and why one should take breaks regularly from work to be in the best state of mind always.
An overhaul of any business school because the school has incorporated subjects that helps us understand entrepreneurship better. We had to clear 9 subjects each year, including theory and practical. Studies were challenging, and the load was always high as assignments would never end. The classrooms were amazing, and it wasn't just the classrooms where classes were taken. Open areas of the college were used in-between as fun activities were included to lighten the mood in between the classes. The college is sometimes harsh on students, but they literally know how to make things simpler for the students.
Industrial experience seems like a must to be become a professor here. The professors teaching experience might not be that exemplary, but their work experience otherwise was mind-boggling. They would share the challenges that each sector has, and if one is capable of a fight, they can choose that particular sector. All these pep talks by them made things simplified as we knew which sector is meant for us. They helped us in and out, and there was no favoritism, which I liked the most about them.
Placements were absolute peach as many top companies work closely with the college, right from the live projects to internships. Many companies already knew some of the students, and they have their eyes set on them before the campus placement starts. If you have worked hard on projects and internships, you will not have to wait until campus placements. You will have a job letter, and taking it directly from there is a better deal because they might have missed out on the students who could do even better. Students studying here are outrageous and intelligent enough to impress any company. Not just were we trained for getting placements, but a lot of focus was given on being self-made because the program was designed that way.
The college has both boy's and girl's hostels. For students not having domicile of Delhi had to stay at the hostels compulsorily, but the hostels are not mandatory for Delhiites. Staying in the same city and if had to stay at the hostel, I don't think, I would have chosen this college ever. Most B-Schools today are residential, but EMPI is a residential for non-Delhiites and for students from Delhi, they just have to be punctual and are allowed to stay beyond the hostels. From what I learned, the hostels were amazing as it had all the facilities, and the food served was also hygienic and delicious. The in-time was an issue otherwise, the hostel facilities were good enough.
The college location can be called an education hub as IGNOU; SAARC Universities are close to the EMPI campus. The college is between Chattarpur Temples and Asola Wild Life Sanctuary, making it one of the most serene locations of the city. There are also quite a few hotels in the college's vicinity, and Chattarpur Metro station is at a walking distance from the college. The campus is quite beautiful inside the college as the main building, the classrooms, and labs are top quality. The college has a beautiful auditorium and an open amphitheater which can also be called the meeting point. Infrastructure wise, the college was fully equipped, and the college's location makes it even better.
Management studies can be identified in a crowd. We had to rush everyday as reporting time of the college was sharp 9 am. A 45 minutes lunch break from 1 to 1.45 and then again, the classes. The last class will only end at 6 and before that, we didn't have permission to leave the campus without notice. The college had many fun sessions in-between. Events and fest looked like a mere formality because I had enough events in my previous college. EMPI's events were nothing in comparison to those.
EMPI is not a known commodity to many but is one of the best when it comes to PGDM courses. They have kept the standards really high as intake is 120 and that too purely on merit. More than quantity, the college is focused more on quality. To give students an experience of a lifetime, the college has constructed an ATAL Incubation Center, IBM Labs and a high-performance centre. The college also has an entrepreneurship cell where they nurture the students to make them successful entrepreneurs. Th... Read Full Review
