EMPI Business School PGDM Review By Bhadresh Parmar

I started preparing for the entrance and it took me 2 attempts to finally get into a Business school. However, when I did, I made sure that it has to be one of the best and one that is at another location. I couldn’t enjoy the hostel life or life beyond home and when EMPI called for a round of interview, I was on the moon. Just 120 students and that’s about it as I never came across anybody who has had a backdoor entry. We lived like a family at the campus and I wish I had words to explain how I enjoyed being at the EMPI for two years of my life. The best part of EMPI Business School was that its PGDM program is AI infused and so we got many add-on certificates from IBM. We also got badges that were approved and accepted by LinkedIn and Facebook. I guess I made the best choice by being a part of EMPI Business School.

The college was best for MBA marketing as more than the time that we spent at the campus, we had to be on field and see the live experiences. It was an honor to understand the dignity of labor as many people tend to ignore people who sell credit card or cars at the malls. Most of them are MBA students who are just doing their job which is a part of study. Hence, I would request all to please show some compassion towards such people because I experienced as if we are beggars who are selling you things. There are ways to ignore and most importantly compassion was the biggest learning from EMPI Business School. All those were an exercise to look back today and see how we have attained the status of being a team leader of an organization. Academic wise EMPI was excellent.

Faculties had no shame in helping us during outdoors and would teach us deal with the situations. Even at the campus the faculty were more of a mentor who along with subjects gave us many life lessons. I being one of the seniors in the class was made the leader during the third semester to lead a team of students. My faculties showed immense faith in me then and it was their faith that has helped me achieve a position in life which otherwise would have never been possible. In all walks of life, we need people who can put their arm around us and EMPI faculties were exactly like that as they were never critical of our marks scored or how we did in our practicals.

All the hard work and the study that we did at the campus landed us to some of the best jobs. It was during the placement that I realized that not just the car makers, insurance or credit card sellers need marketing students. Almost all the sectors need marketing professionals for their business. Companies like SBI Credit Cards, HDFC Bank, HSBC Bank, and American Express were among some of the companies that visited the campus placement program. The placement was not exactly 100% but close to that for sure. Jobs offered were 10LPA or above. After waiting for two years after graduation, I couldn’t have agreed on anything less and luckily EMPI looked after their students brilliantly and got the best of placements for their students.

PGDM is a residential program and all the students enrolled for the course stayed at the residential building which was at the campus. The residential building had rooms allotted on twin sharing basis. All the rooms had great set of facilities like TV, Geezers, couch, and nice beds. Apart from room the building had common spaces and students can gather there and have fun. I can’t remember a single night when we went to bed before 2am in the morning. Classes were early but sleeping for just 4-5 hours became a habit there. Staying at the hostel teaches you a lot and I am glad that I had this experience in my life or else I would have called my life incomplete.

Campus size was fairly small but the location was one of the best. Metro station at 5 minutes walking and eateries just outside the campus. Talking about the campus it had two great buildings that had one of the best lecture halls. Little lesser if I compare to my previous college but not much of a difference. The library was in the other building that had administrative office and canteen and all. Other than two buildings there was a garden and a small mud outlet which was used by us to play Volley ball. There were trees and benches underneath to sit. The building other than the lecture hall building had a seminar hall which was like a multiplex. An open amphitheater was used by students for their fun activities. Lastly a small basket ball court which was used to play intra-squad matches.

Hostel itself made up my life gracious at the campus. Studies at the campus was next level. Students were from another planet as all of them with some or the other qualities. Just sitting and doing chit-chat for two years with some of the best brains and trying to pick things from them is my campus life fared away at EMPI within a blink of an eye.
