IIIT, Surat is a college where you can develop yourself by gaining course knowledge with best quality theory lectures as well as practical's. There are great clubs which you can choose for yourself which will help you with your extracurricular. Coming here you must be preplanned and not dependent on college for opportunities. You must be best at what you want to be to attract opportunities. There are no dedicated grounds for the sports but yes, there is a grassy area where a small team can play a football match. Our college is a great participator in Inter IIIT activities. After all in short college will offer a fun and challenging experience throughout the journey.

In IIIT Surat academics is not too good as every teacher is not best at their subject and not too bad also. You will get attached to the teacher who teaches his/her subject best. On the other hand, you can't depend on some teacher for their subject. For those subjects you need to take help of other resources for getting a decent GPA in your midterm and final term examination. You need at least 33 marks in your final examination in each subject to get yourself promoted to next semester or year. If you get less than 33 in more than 3 subjects then you will need to repeat the year. Otherwise, you just need to pass your supplementary and there are no issues. Only two branches are there ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) and CSE (Computer Science and Engineering).

About faculty. I can say is that there are few great faculties who love their subject and can teach that subject very well. You just need to pay attention to each and every word they say in the class, and you are ready for your exam. On the other hand, there are also faculties who don't know what they are teaching. So, for that subject you need to take help of other resources such as YouTube or some book or something. It's not so difficult to get good marks in exams as the paper is not so difficult, one can easily score decent marks with minimum preparation. So, getting a degree is not the issue in this college.

The placements are getting better with years passing by. As we are learning new technologies, companies are motivated to get good interns or full-time people in our college. In case of placement don't expect high salary at the start itself. This will help you in gaining industry experience and you will get a head start. With time you can shift companies with high salary and your growth is inevitable. But for the time being getting yourself on campus placed you must work for not so high salaries for a better start.

In this part I am going to criticize the college for not giving good hostel facilities. The college doesn’t have their own hostel they have deals with other school hostel where our college students stay. The overall experience of hostel is not so good. You have to compromise with basic facilities. But eventually there is a factor which will enable you to live and have a good experience which is, that you are not alone. You will make friends who will be living in that same condition in the same building. You can enjoy and might have a good time with them.

I will also like to criticize at this part. The infrastructure is minimal and there is not so much to explore in college. The college runs in an L shaped building and there only classes are allotted for different year’s students. There is a canteen which doesn't offer too good food where you can have your lunch at college break period. To give an overall view there are 6 classes where theory is taught and there are 3 ECE practical labs and 3 CSE practical labs where there are computers on each desk for approximately 40 students.

Campus is overall good, with people coming from different areas of India. You can make good friends, take part in cultural activities and sports, be a respected member of a club and help with the work. There is a lot to do. The coding is also good of the college. So overall you will have things to do, just you need to choose yourself and experiment and just take the leap of faith. The college has its own cultural fest named Spring Fiesta in which you can participate and show your talent to the audiences.
