Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Surat, and Gujarat is an Institute of National Importance (INI). The new academic facility is developed on the land allotted by the Gujarat Government at Kamrej in the Surat district. The institute is working in Public - Private - Partnership (PPP) Mode. At present time most of the IIITs are in developing phase but the pace of development of IIIT Surat is very high being the fact that it's just 7 years old (established in 2017).

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Surat offers two courses namely Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). To get admission into the institute one must have qualified JEE Mains examination and must have at least 75% in 12th board exams as per the criteria of JOSAA. At the current scenario field of Computer Science and Electronics is at boom. Most of the students are getting into such branches. Since IIIT SURAT is an INI College it is always preferred over other private institutions.

Most of the faculties at IIIT SURAT are holding Master's degree or Ph.D in their respective domains. Most of the faculties are well experienced and their teachings methods are also preferred by the students. But we also have few faculties which are not uptu the mark at teaching. Some faculties teach on the board and some teach using PPTs and all the studying material is shared with the students.

We have a dedicated training and placement cell at IIIT Surat for providing placement assistance to the students. Students are offered 6 months internship, FTEs and PPOs. For the batch 2024, the highest package for CSE was 64 LPA (Uber) followed with 58 LPA (Google). For ECE the highest package was 24 LPA (Math works). Overall average package was 13 LPA and Median Package was 11.75 LPA. Overall 70% students were placed. Rests 30% were interested in startups, higher education and examinations like UPSC or GPSC.

Currently we do not have a hostel of our own. But the students are provided accommodation at some third party hostel which is around 10 km from the campus and transportation facility is also provided. We will soon have a hostel at our institute. Construction of the hostel is in progress.

Our current campus is of 7 acres. It contains admin block, 6 classrooms, 6 Labs, Girls and boy’s washrooms, canteen, library, 2 faculty rooms and an Open Air Theatre (OAT). Plus we have dedicated volleyball ground and kabaddi ground and also we have empty space where students can play football or cricket also. We have recently got a table tennis set. Plus we will be having Drums, piano and other music stuff soon at the campus. This is a temporary campus. Construction of our permanent campus of 27 acres is in progress and will be completed within next 1.5 - 2 years. It will consist of an administration block + academic block + boy’s hostel + girl’s hostel. The hostels will also consist of recreational area.

We have 90 seats in both the courses which is a total of 180 so we have less number of students at the campus. But these students are creamy layer students as they have entered the college by clearing one of the toughest exams called JEE Mains. We have a one day cultural program called Saanjh which consists of cultural performances and recreational activities. We organise a 3 day annual cultural fest called Spring Fiesta which also consists of cultural performances and competitions organized by different clubs within the college. We also regularly organise coding competitions for the students. So yes campus life is very good here and it will get better after we get our permanent campus.
