Overall the experience is average. The institute does not lack in facilities or equipment. However the institute has become stagnant over a period of about 2 years. The institute has not progressed beyond that. There is no lacking in facilities in the institute which is a plus point. But, the lack of institutional hostel facilities, placement and recent faculty inclusions somewhat degrade overall experience. Personally I chose this institute above other IIIT's because at that time the placements were good, it was most economically feasible with high return on investment. It had a good and active social and coding culture. I believe the academic fee for the institute is still most affordable among other IIITs.

The academics are good. The curriculum is challenging and difficult. The institute offers B.Tech courses for Computer Science, Electronic, and Communications Engineering. The institute also offers Ph.D for which the candidate can apply on the institute’s website. Entry requirements are JEE Main around 25K rank for gender neutral quota. I have personally enrolled in Computer Science and Engineering program as in future it has lot of scope and it was my strong zone from the beginning.

The overall faculty is average. Older and more experienced faculties are very good and are at the top of their fields. They mostly teach more important and core subjects. However recent faculty inclusion decisions could have been better. The management has said that there is shortage of faculty in Computer Science department. Hence, the department could have made some improvements. However, the faculty for Electronics and Communications Engineering Department is commendable. They are very good and firm in their concepts.

The institute does have a placement cell where there is a placement officer, teacher and student coordinators. It does help students acquire jobs in industry. But in the period of the past 2 years, the data has been somewhat lower than before. There are many factors in this, stagnation in institute development, recent faculties, failure in providing more up skilling opportunities apart from curriculum and most important is recession in the industry.

The institute does not include hostel facilities. But it does provide them via contract. The contracted hostels may be about 10 km from the institute itself. It would be that way till the hostels are constructed in the college itself.

The campus consists of a single temporary academic block as there are only about 500 students. This consists of 6 classrooms, 2 staff rooms, office, 6 labs (3 Computer Science labs, 3 Electronic and Communications Engineering labs) and a canteen. One of the ECE labs are equipped with physics apparatus required for engineering physics.

Overall the campus life is limited due to infrastructure, but the students are enthusiastic and hopeful. There are multiple clubs: sports, cultural, coding clubs, GDSC community, etc. The student culture is flourishing. Apart from that there are 2 major fests in the institute. Saanjh: for welcoming the new batch each year. It is hosted around September / October. Spring fest: it is hosted around March / April. Other than these a freshers party is organized each year by seniors and the institute celebrates all the holidays like Holi, Makar Sakranti, Republic Day and Independence Day, etc. with enthusiasm.
