IIIT Surat, College review

Overall Rating
To be honest, IIIT Surat wasn't first priority of mine. After counseling it was the best college I could have got at my rank. My experience in college is great till now. I am accompanied with very talented students overall India. Seniors here are very helpful and approachable, which is one of the best things here. Also there are various active clubs here, which makes it easy for students who also want to follow their passions. Overall I am having great time here.
 

Academics Rating
IIIT Surat offers B.Tech in Electronics and Communication engineering (ECE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE). There aren't any specific requirements or eligibility criteria to be part of these courses, as the only basic requirement is you should have good enough rank in JEE MAINS to clear the cutoff of particular branch here. Faculties here are very helpful and motivate student to not just be included in academics but to explore your interest and follow it.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties here are having good experience. Few are graduated from IIT and NIT as well. Every faculty is having their own teaching style, but is very flexible to change the style if students are facing problem in understanding the subject. Especially for ECE faculty is very experienced. Teachers teach through PPT or on board or both depending upon the topic. Thus faculties here are pretty good.
 

Placement Rating
IIIT Surat has its own training and placement cell, which looks after the placements. Placement here are good as average and percentage of students being placed is decent. Students are very skilled and thus it makes it easier for them to get placed. This is because coding culture is very good here.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel isn't yet built within campus. But college makes Hostel available to students. The place where we were given accommodation recently was good as it was having decent food, playground, decent rooms, etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
We are having temporary campus which is having office, classrooms, labs, canteen, library, playground, etc. They are not the best classrooms or labs you can expect but provide what is basically required. You should not be expecting best things in terms of infrastructure. Fests and cultural events are conducted within campus.
 

Campus Rating
Overall experience of mine is great. It is mostly because of colleagues here. The people here are having much knowledge about their fields as well as they are very helpful, which makes it much easier to develop ourselves. As I mentioned before there are various activity clubs here, that conduct various activities to keep everyone engaged within clubs. Also fests here is amazing, students as well as faculties showcase their talent here. Thus overall campus life is good here if you are considering IIIT Surat.

    My overall experience is good. Institute is really awesome as the students come from different states which creates mix cultural environment. The faculty is very friendly and experienced.     I like IIIT Surat because it is an Institute of National Importance, which is very good for my career in future. The placement scene is improving year by year because good companies are visiting the campus. Surat weather is also another plus point which made me choose this particular institute.     The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat is still in its developing phase. The campus and its overall infrastructure is average. The campus is very small. Apart from this there is an issue with number of faculties also as most of them are on temporary basis. But on the other hand the coding culture is quite decent and there are a lot of clubs to explore. The placement is average.     Overall the experience is average. The institute does not lack in facilities or equipment. However the institute has become stagnant over a period of about 2 years. The institute has not progressed beyond that. There is no lacking in facilities in the institute which is a plus point. But, the lack of institutional hostel facilities, placement and recent faculty inclusions somewhat degrade overall experience.
