Review on IIIT Surat.

Overall Rating
The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat is still in its developing phase. The campus and its overall infrastructure is average. The campus is very small. Apart from this there is an issue with number of faculties also as most of them are on temporary basis. But on the other hand the coding culture is quite decent and there are a lot of clubs to explore. The placement is average. There is an issue with hostel facilities as our institute does not have its own hostels.
 

Academics Rating
The academics curriculum is good as the subjects are very useful and practical. The overall syllabus is very advanced as compared to other colleges . there is no academic pressure. The examination system is good. The students are evaluated on the basis of quizzes. In mid semester and end semester the students are scored based on practical exams.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties of Electronics and Communication Engineering are experienced. Whereas in Computer Science, the faculty members are new. Overall both the branches have qualified & supportive teachers. They also help us in non academic events like internships and projects. The faculty members have decent knowledge of their domain.
 

Placement Rating
The placement is average. One cannot rely on the Placement Cell completely for job or internship opportunities. The TPO Officer before was not a permanent one and there was no TPO once in the placement season.
 

Hostel Rating
Our Institute does not have hostel of its own. Some school hostels are used to provide hostel facilities to the students. The hostels provided are far from the Institute and for that bus facilities have been provided. The food is average.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very small and there are only 6 classrooms and 6 labs for the students. The library and mess are very compact. The whole campus has a single block only. The classrooms are not air conditioned. The labs are well ventilated and they have all the required equipment.
 

Campus Rating
The club culture is good. There are a lot of opportunities to explore. The fests are good and the clubs keep on organising events on every festival and conduct competitive events which make the campus joyful. Campus location is a problem in some cases but, overall it is good.

    Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Surat, and Gujarat is an Institute of National Importance (INI). The new academic facility is developed on the land allotted by the Gujarat Government at Kamrej in the Surat district. The institute is working in Public - Private - Partnership (PPP) Mode.     I like IIIT Surat because it is an Institute of National Importance, which is very good for my career in future. The placement scene is improving year by year because good companies are visiting the campus. Surat weather is also another plus point which made me choose this particular institute.     To be honest, IIIT Surat wasn't first priority of mine. After counseling it was the best college I could have got at my rank. My experience in college is great till now. I am accompanied with very talented students overall India. Seniors here are very helpful and approachable, which is one of the best things here. Also there are various active clubs here, which makes it easy for students who also want to follow their passions. Overall I am having great time here.... Read Full Review

    Overall the experience is average. The institute does not lack in facilities or equipment. However the institute has become stagnant over a period of about 2 years. The institute has not progressed beyond that. There is no lacking in facilities in the institute which is a plus point. But, the lack of institutional hostel facilities, placement and recent faculty inclusions somewhat degrade overall experience.     This college is newly built in Kamrej (15km from Surat station). The campus is not fully built now and hostel is not in campus, students are provided private hostels in schools campus which is 10km away from college (bus Services is available). Classrooms are good but not air conditioned. It gets heated in summer season. But the CSE labs and staff rooms have ACs. Some professors are friendly while few faculties are non cooperative.
