Arya Vidyapeeth College B.Sc Review By Samiran Acharjya

Hello, I am Samiran Acharjya. I am currently pursuing B.Sc (Honors) in Mathematics in Arya Vidyapeeth College which is situated in Guwahati. Arya Vidyapeeth College is an Autonomous college. The campus is very small and some part is still under construction. The level of study is very good. There are two computer labs in my college. A gym is under construction. There is a library and canteen also there is my college. The extracurricular activities are less such that no cricket matches between two colleges. Though college has a playground. My main problem of Arya Vidyapeeth College is that all departments don’t have their own washrooms and study rooms.

Academic reviews are excellent from college. Since I have got 79% percentage in my 12th boards and got the seat. I don't know the exact entry requirements but one thing is that if you have secure 80% in 12th boards, you can also secure your seat. My motive for enrolling in B.Sc (Honors) in Mathematics is for my love towards Mathematics and this college has one of the best faculties of Mathematics in Assam. I want to do Ph.D in Mathematics for which my basics should be very clear that's why I have enrolled in this course.

All the faculty members at least have a qualification of Masters in their respective subject. Most of them also have Ph.D degree on their subject. The teachers are well qualified for teaching the students. It is on the hand of students how they grab the opportunity. The teachers are so friendly in my department that they even told us that students can reach them whenever we have any doubt.

The college starts with a canteen after that a building and an auditorium. That building contains a Library and NCC office. After that building there is an administrative block which includes the office of principal, vice principal, etc. After that there is an under-construction building. Next to that there is a building which has 4 floors and contains different departments. There is also a boy’s common room and girl’s common room.

There are lots of fests that are organised by college and various student unions. The fests include freshers party by department, General fresher's by college and two fresher's party by two different student union. There is also a farewell party but that is organised by department only. The campus life is not that good. There are some workshops that are organised by college for students.
