Review on the North -Eastern Hill University

Overall Rating
The North-Eastern Hill University is a central university. The fees structure of this university is lower than other universities. There are many departments here that provide courses including PG (Arts, Science and Commerce), UG (B.Tech and B.A LLB) and Ph.D. Our university provides internet facility and there are many canteens inside the campus. The security here is very strict.
 

Academics Rating
I am perusing B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering at this university. It is a 4-year program. To take admission JEE marks is required. Students who have done diploma can also take admission from the 2nd year. They just need to give an examination called LEET. This is the only central university in the entire North-East India that provides B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties of our department are very knowledge. They have done their post graduation and Ph.D. from IITs and NITs. They provide us good quality of education. There are smart boards and projectors in our department. Our faculties use them to teach us by presenting notes. They also take us for field visits and provide us learning materials which help us to prepare for exams.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell in our university. They provide internship opportunities during our winter breaks and vacations. They organize a placement drive for the final year students. The placement cell collaborates with some companies for providing placements to the students. They organize webinars as well as workshops in online and offline mode to encourage students for different programs.
 

Hostel Rating
There are a total of 23 hostels in our campus. There are hostels are for boys, girls and one international hostel. The mess fee of the hostel is very less. We need to pay only Rs. 2,000 for the mess. The admission fee is Rs. 6,000 (refundable). The hostel food is good. There are options for veg and non-veg meals.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The main campus of this university is very big (1225 acres). There are 8 schools in our university. All the departments come under these schools. Wi-Fi connectivity is also there in the campus. All the buildings are well architected. Water purifying aquaguards are available in all the departments.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of our university is very peaceful. There is a football field, volleyball field, cricket ground and a basketball court is inside our campus, where all the students can play games. There is a lake and a waterfall called “Nehu Falls” in the university. There are many canteens, stationary and grocery shops inside the campus too.

  • NEHU Shillong hostel and mess fees is affordable

    It is located in Shillong, Meghalaya. Most beautiful and soothing place for students. The place is full of greenery. The main campus is huge, silent and best for study. Best place for students who love nature. The campus includes many guest houses where they provide residential facilities in very affordable amount.     Overall Rating
    The good thing about North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong is that it's a Central Government funded university and the fees are very less as compared to other universities. I am pursuing B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering which I got through JOSSA counselling by clearing the JEE Mains. After getting the stream, I was excited about the rare field of engineering. Now I am in 3rd year and I am very happy to enter this course as I can get more opportunities for future aspects.... Read Full Review
