North-Eastern Hill University – Overall review by a student

Overall Rating
It is located in Shillong, Meghalaya. Most beautiful and soothing place for students. The place is full of greenery. The main campus is huge, silent and best for study. Best place for students who love nature. The campus includes many guest houses where they provide residential facilities in very affordable amount. The campus also includes indoor stadium and sports clubs which are beneficial for students to improve interests into other curriculum activities.
 

Academics Rating
The department has a good management system. They ensure education and activities for the students. They organize seminars for students and offer certificate for attending the seminar. Placement system is also good for last year students. We need to prepare for 2 mid terms and the end semester. Also the laboratories are used for providing practical exposure to the students.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties of our department are very knowledgeable. They are passed out from well known institutes like NITs and IITs. All professors have done their research in specific subjects or some of them are research scholars. Their teaching skill is very good. They also provide materials and notes for students to help in studies.
 

Placement Rating
Every year they offer internships for students in reputed company or medical or the branch related field. They also collaborate with other companies and institutions for students to interact with work-field.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel facilities are very good. The mess fee is also affordable for students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus encompasses 2 or 3 auditoriums with big area. And also the department buildings are big. They include many classrooms for every semester students also the laboratories for perform practicals. Our department has 3 laboratories for main subjects and another one is computer lab. The buildings are well maintained and clean.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is so peaceful. The campus includes all facilities for students for examples departmental stores, stationary shops, canteens, cafes, boutique, salons, ATM, Bank, Telephone service center, Computer center, library, etc. For sports there is basketball court, badminton courts, cricket grounds, football ground, volleyball ground, etc.

    The North-Eastern Hill University is a central university. The fees structure of this university is lower than other universities. There are many departments here that provide courses including PG (Arts, Science and Commerce), UG (B.Tech and B.A LLB) and Ph.D. Our university provides internet facility and there are many canteens inside the campus.     Overall Rating
    The good thing about North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong is that it's a Central Government funded university and the fees are very less as compared to other universities. I am pursuing B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering which I got through JOSSA counselling by clearing the JEE Mains. After getting the stream, I was excited about the rare field of engineering. Now I am in 3rd year and I am very happy to enter this course as I can get more opportunities for future aspects.... Read Full Review
