I joined it in 2015 and the very next year, it became autonomous. We too were shifted in that and sadly for us, the previous year papers and notes collected became useless for us. College is a place where along with studies students also have the opportunity to take some time off and pursue the things that they are dearly interested in. Wishful thinking is already high in engineering students and college also raised hopes to an extent. The reality but was quite different as most of the subjects we studied had no relevance. Some faculties were just too strict and were happy with the process of school being followed at the University level. Infrastructure needs a standing ovation as it was already nice but construction for new building and hostel started. Extracurricular activities were quite less and one needs to have permissions from HOD to be actively participating. Life on the whole wasn’t that great at Medi-Caps but placements were superior as most students got placed through campus placements.
When you get to hear that engineering students saying we don’t go to college and that we don’t submit assignments on time and still we go through, ask them to swear and then say such things. All this is a sheer myth as 80% attendance was compulsory. The remaining 20% too that student miss was covered through extra classes or by taking help of fellow students. Even though the strength was high the faculty was perhaps keeping a note of students progress as they will know your performance of 1st year even during the 3rd year. So, if you are ready to study hard then only join Medi-Caps University.
I couldn’t have ever imagined college professors being so strict. The general consensus is that they are getting paid even if students study or not is not true for Medi-Caps. The faculty was answerable to the management and students also had little power of complaining if there’s any biasedness or reservation against teaching style of a professor. One truth is that their teaching was indeed poetry in motion as they would explain it so gracefully that you just have to go through it once prior to exams and you are good to go.
After such hardships, imagine if you don’t get a job, how will you feel? Luckily not many had to feel bad as the placements were quite good. Over 50 companies were invited and E&C engineering students drew major attention. 70-75% students got placed through campus and average placements were around 5-6 LPA. For other departments too it could have been little lesser in terms of placement percentage but definitely not in terms of placement packages.
Hostels are placed right at the north wing of the campus and they were mind blowing. Capacity wise still small but adjacent to its new construction of 2 buildings was on means they would be adding 1 boys and 1 girls hostel is what I am guessing. By then, the capacity was low but the building was fantastic and facilities wise too it was great. The menu is far and wide as it has North Indian, Italian, Punjabi, and South Indian cuisines. The timings were in place but followed or not can be anybody’s guess. Guards were in place for both boys and girls hostel and to monitor it, CCTV cameras were also installed.
Starting off with Computer Center as it had to be the best and it was without a doubt one of the best. Over all the campus is neatly built with gardens, parking spaces and distance between the buildings really well organized. The campus also has a beautiful temple and students are seen offering prayers there. The campus also has an ATM machine and a canteen that provides top quality stuff. The college has 2 gymnasiums and sporting facilities that can make you try your hands at any sport. From cricket field to badminton court, everything is been taken care of beautifully.
After staying in such strictness for almost 4 years, it was difficult to get out of it. Today when I am back to normal and thinking of those days making me feel toxic as they were toxic. I mean the university consumed students too much and I wish we had some breathing space. If you come from a strict school and your parents are also strict then you can probably can survive otherwise toxicity will take its toll.
In this College, no developed labs and farmland are available which are basic key features of an agriculture College. There is no proper water source available for irrigation in fields. It is good for Engineering students. There is no proper academic calendar for agriculture. It is going according to engineering and management branches. So, in my opinion, it is not a good option.... Medi-Caps was under the central university and went autonomous after we passed out. Thus, it’s now an autonomous university and probably one of the best in Indore. The buildings are renovated now but despite being a little old, infrastructure was and is still definitely the best amongst colleges in Indore. BBA requires not much of criteria as 80+ percentages in 12th is enough. After turning autonomous they have included an entrance as well. The problem is the location as it is located in Rau w...
