Stella Maris College has a strong placement record

I'm Shobana, freshly graduated in commerce from Stella Maris College, located in Chennai which is exclusively for women. Well I'm here to share my experience which I had in three years at Stella Maris College, opinions may differ from people to people but experience might be familiar among people. Stella Maris is one among the top most college in Chennai and a famous one in Kerala too. It is indeed a dream for many students including me to get admission at Stella Maris College due to its reputation and popularity. Stella focuses on providing opportunities to girl children across all sections of the society. Stella's vision is not only to make its students score good ranks but also empower them, while I was a student I have witnessed a lot of programs conducted to empower women. Since then I can see a lot of changes in me. Stella offers numerous scholarships to people who could not afford the fee and to be honest I was one among the students who finished college with the help of scholarship amount. Apart from this Stella Maris College conducts numerous programs to help students achieve their dreams of studying abroad through collaborating with prestigious agents like IDP. I'd like to add on that I have been selected at Wells Fargo. Ok now let me give you insights about a few more things to make it interesting.

At Stella Maris College, unlike other colleges, they made it easier for us in our final year by offering lighter subjects, considering our future prospects. Each semester was challenging and easy, depending on individual perspectives. As someone who prefers Quantitative over Qualitative subjects, I found it promising that Stella offered a balance to help me manage my GPA, with at least 2-3 Quantitative papers in each semester that boosted my scores.

I had a wonderful relationship with my lecturers. all of them were generous towards the students. Most of them were Ph.D holders, and my faculties had complete knowledge about what they teach us. They were truly subject matter experts. They ensured to make us understand clearly in their best possible way and were always available whenever we required.

Stella Maris College has a strong placement record, with 75% of applied candidates getting placed in reputed companies. These companies include big four companies like Deloitte, E&Y, and banks like ICICI, Wells Fargo, and Accenture. The placement officers work diligently to provide 4-week training to students, ensuring they are well-prepared for placements.

Since I'm a day scholar I am not aware of hostel but heard good things about it from friends like it has spacious and courteous staffs. Stella provides accommodation in terms of hostel to its students who require it.

Stella Maris has modern buildings with a mall-like appearance, creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere for students. It ensures that the washrooms are hygienic and well-maintained, and the floors are regularly swept and cleaned. As mentioned earlier, Stella Maris College is surrounded by trees and plants, which helps to purify the air and remove harmful particles, providing a healthy breathing environment for students.

A year at Stella is always bundeledup with various events which includes Final year - day and night tour with your friends and lecturers. Stella has various clubs such as rotaract, EMC, enviro clubs who aims at protecting nature at all cost. Yes Stella contains 500+ trees in its campus. If you are a foodie then you will like this college a lot since there are nearly 4 canteens in the college. At Stella most people use tokens to buy food for free of cost. Yeah you heard me right you can use tokens worth 600rs if can’t afford to buy. If you are a person who is into social services and others, Stella conducts programs where students are obliged to join in one among the NSS, NCC and RRC. Stella provides accommodation in terms of hostel to its students who requires it and renowned for its discipline.
