Stella Maris College – Overall an excellent College

Overall Rating
Stella Maris College was tough to get admission, it is clearly on merit basis (above 90%) but once you get in, each and every day they conduct celebrations which makes you to cherish your college days with college mates. I really had a great time over there. They included sports program, a credit subject in which everyone is able to come across at least one sports activity. Apart from funny events and cultural fests they balance things on the academic side also. They are strict too. The level they make you free will be equal to the level they put effort to make you excel in academics.
 

Academics Rating
For a B.Com (general) student at Stella Maris college, you should have scored at least above 88% in your 12th standard. The first preference will be given to students with 95%. It will be great even if you have 85% above as you may have chances to get the seat later at the last list of admission.
 

Faculty Rating
About the faculty inside Department of Commerce. They may look strict but they are not. At first day of my college I was really upset about the faculties but at the last day I thought like can we go back? Spend more time with them? Make sure you give your first conversation with faculty with best impression. Their teaching will be perfect even you ask the same question many times they never hesitate to teach you.
 

Placement Rating
Stella Maris College has excellent placement opportunities for 3rd year students. They also provide free training classes before you get into your 3rd academic year. 90% of students got opportunities to work with top reputed companies.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel facilities in Stella Maris will be average. Coming up to the food provided in hostel, it will be average or low sometimes. Don't expect much about the hostel infrastructure.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus of Stella Maris College will be surrounded by 90% of green plants with flowers everywhere that gives you peace of mind. Best to hangout with friends at the break time even after college. The premises / blocks are always maintained properly. They also have sociology department which is the traditional block with beautiful structure.
 

Campus Rating
Overall as a Stella Marian I would like to recommend this college for sure. Once you join you will never regret/ complain about the colorful fest, engaging audience for each event, Dj nights every year, Neon nights, Active clubs and loving faculties/ friends. You will have a great time that cherishes your entire college life.

    Stella Maris College is an Autonomous college which is located in Cathedral Road Chennai. I joined Stella in the year 2021 and completed B.Com general successfully in 2024. To share my experience there, Teaching is extremely good and it is well known college for extracurricular activities especially charitable work.
