My Journey at Stella Maris College

Overall Rating
Stella Maris College is an Autonomous college which is located in Cathedral Road Chennai. I joined Stella in the year 2021 and completed B.Com general successfully in 2024. To share my experience there, Teaching is extremely good and it is well known college for extracurricular activities especially charitable work. I've been part of NSS and also there is a compulsory subject to serve in an NGO for few hours. Hope you find this helpful.
 

Academics Rating
There are various subjects that are completely relevant and helpful. In Marketing we had so many types of marketing such as retail marketing, tourism marketing and in Accounting there are Financial Accounting and management Accounting. There were also subjects like international business, business communication etc. The subjects were very easy as well as useful for the future careers.
 

Faculty Rating
The Faculties are very knowledgeable and were very experienced in their own domain. They always welcome doubts and take much effort to clear those doubts. Their teaching style is unique where they use many examples to make us understand the concept clearly. They also make us learn concepts better by giving various assignments.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell plays major role in Stella were most of the students get job while leaving the college with good pay. Usually placement is conducted only during the third year. Before placements there is also training which is provided by the college to Excel students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Each course has different buildings (Blocks) with very good infrastructure. The college has very neat and clean restrooms. Everywhere around the college we can find dustbins for keeping the college campus clean. To talk about canteen there are 4 canteens with almost all food items including snacks, drinks etc. The campus also has sign boards around to guide you to the way.
 

Campus Rating
There are various cultural events which are conducted by all the departments. Students can participate in cultural competitions which are conducted by other department also. There is also NSS, NCC, and Clubs such as French club, environmental club, Tamil club, photography club, and more which encourage students to participate more in the club activities.

    Stella Maris College was tough to get admission, it is clearly on merit basis (above 90%) but once you get in, each and every day they conduct celebrations which makes you to cherish your college days with college mates.
