Ramjas College hostel facilities are affordable

Ramjas College is a prestigious college of North Campus, University of Delhi. It is one of the oldest colleges of the University and an NAAC accredited college. As a third year student of Ramjas College, I have already spent two wonderful years at the Institution. The College has given me a new identity, by providing me numerous opportunities every single day and increasing my confidence to stand in the real world. Till school, I was just a bookworm and was focused only on studying but after coming here, I have been able to participate in competitions organised in entire DU Circuit and was a part of various societies. I chose Ramjas College, because I found it excelling in academics, extra-curricular, societies, fests and providing a safe and friendly environment for growth.

I am pursuing Bachelor of Commerce from Ramjas College. I chose this course because I have a keen interest in learning more in the field of Commerce and Finance. Further, I am also pursuing CA, which is a good combination with B.Com. I got admission into this course through CUET. The subject combination being Accountancy / Math + English + Economics + Business Studies. Here Accountancy / Math + English are compulsory whereas a student may opt for any other two subjects studied in 12th. Another combination can be made with General Test. Also, there is no compulsion of having Math in 11th and 12th as it is very clear from the combination requirements.

We have very renowned faculty members at the college. They are the professors who are also the writers of books of the subjects they teach. I had always been excited about learning from the subject experts themselves and finally got the same here. Some of them are CA while some are themselves graduated from the best DU colleges. Their style of teaching is quite nice too. They make us solve questions on our own and give presentations in class so that we can get a good hold over the topics.

We have an amazing Placement Cell at college named Pinnacle. It always strives to bring best opportunities for the students from all courses and all years. They have a separate telegram group for sharing internship, volunteering, competitions and other opportunities where they post regularly to keep the students updated. Also, the Placement Cell of our college brings the best of companies and consulting firms like Big 4s on Campus so that students are able to secure good placements. They actively conduct sessions, help with CV vetting and provide full support throughout the placement process.

We have separate hostels for boys and girls students which are just beside the college. One can just get out of their hostel and find that they are in the college. Yes, it's that close. To be honest, I haven't got to experience the hostel life myself as not everyone gets the hostel and it depends on many factors like scores, category, distance of your hometown etc. But as far as I have heard from my friends, the hostel facilities are quite good. There is availability of food and other basic necessities. The infrastructure of hostels is also nice. One can definitely consider trying to get into hostel as it is cheaper as compared to living outside the campus.

I personally like the infrastructure of the college the most. There is so much greenery around, grass covered playgrounds, grounds with flowers around and benches & many trees. You can breathe better here in a polluted city like Delhi. The overall building of the college is very good too. It is divided into two buildings~ New and Old, but to tell the truth, even the old one looks new as it has been so properly maintained. The classrooms are properly ventilated and airy. The walls are well painted. There is availability of elevator (lift). The library is air conditioned and the canteen offers the most affordable yet tasty food. I can bet you will never complaint about the infrastructure.

The campus life here is definitely not like the SOTY movie but yes it's thrilling in itself. You will get amazing experience of enjoying with your friends. There is an indoor gym with all the equipment and also tennis court and availability of other sports equipment. As a sport and fitness enthusiast, you will have a great time here. The crowd is also great as all are the toppers of their respective schools or cities. More importantly, I feel you won't have to face any toxic competition here as everyone is busy in their own thing and are supportive rather than competitive. The societies are very active. As first years, you may have to go through a rigorous process to become a part of the societies and once you are in, you have to work dedicatedly. There are various societies available like Commerce Society, Consulting Society, Dance Society, Music Society, Drama Society, Finance and Investment Cell, Entrepreneurship Cell, etc. Talking about fests, recently a grand fest was organized at the college which witnessed crowd from entire DU and many renowned celebrities were invited. Apart from this, some or the other informative or growth oriented session is always going on in either the aphitheatre or the conference hall.
