'SITAR' is an Anuual Cultural Fest of PVPSIT Vijayawada

My time at PVPSIT Vijayawada has been both challenging and rewarding. I choose this Institute because of its strong placement record, experienced faculty and active campus life. What I really liked is that this Institute not only imparts students with theoretical knowledge but also teaches them how to survive in society, how to build a good character, how to develop personal skills, and to have good personality after we enter into society. The Institute has helped me beyond studies. It is a place where you can develop both skills and confidence to lead your life. I'd definitely recommend this Institute to anyone who wants to a build strong career.

I joined B.Tech in IT here because I've always been curious about how coding works and wanted to build career in tech. My admission was through AP EAPCET, and luckily I got a seat in the first counselling round. The course is split into two semesters per year (8 semesters in total), with regular and practical sessions. The curriculum is relevant to industry needs, which makes learning more useful.

I joined the Institute in 2023. The total course fee is Rs. 3,08,000/-, which is about Rs. 77,000/- per year and it needs to be paid on a semester-wise basis. And this fee covers tuition, admission and lab fees. Availing hostel is our choice and it costs nearly Rs. 26,000/- for a year and Rs. 3,500/- are charged per month for food. There are also separate fees for placement training and it’s useful for future interviews. I paid Rs. 11,000/- for my training and it’s totally worth. The Institute also offers scholarships for merit-based students and for students with low financial background.

My Institute has good and experienced faculty who give their best to teach us. My department is lead by Dr. B.V. Subba Rao, professor and head of our department. There are 22 faculty members for my course. All of them are experienced. They are intellectually smart and guide us with the right pathways. Outcome based educational approach is followed by students and classes are a mix of blackboard explanation, labs and practical projects. Our faculty is not only experienced but also approachable. They walk us through real life examples for better understanding. When we have doubts, they quickly clarify them in class or after class and they also make time to teach us personally if asked. They always encourage learning and exploring more.

The placements and training cell really works to connect students with industry. They organize and help us in everything like placement preparation, interviews, career guidance, etc. The Institute is autonomous and actively updates the curriculum while aligning it with job market demands. They also conduct placement related activities like mock tests and recruitment drives. They provide stipend based internships for students. In recent years we have placements in companies like Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and many others. And the package secured by students nearly goes around 4.5 LPA to 16 LPA. The environment is competitive but well-supported.

The Institute offers separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The girls’ hostel is right on campus, with around 68 rooms which can accommodate 300 students. There are basic amenities in the rooms like beds, cupboards, fans, and lights. The boys’ hostel is a bit farther to campus and so has transportation facility. They have computer center, library, water plant, laundry, Wi-Fi, round-the-clock security with CCTV cameras, steam cooking systems, etc. Mess is there where food is served four times a day- Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and Dinner. There is strict discipline maintained and there are strict curfew timings at the Institute’s hostel. The rooms are clean and tidy and we have friendly atmosphere around the hostel. We celebrate all festivals all together and it’s nice to stay in hostel.

The Institute is spread on nearly 19.98 acres of land. The surroundings are peaceful and green setting. The Institute is located only 8 kilometers away from the city center. The RCC structured academic block has classrooms, labs, and more. There are many classrooms with projectors and boards and each class room have a seating capacity of around 60-70 students. We have a spacious central library which is well-stocked with approximately 55,000+ printed books and 12,000+ e-books along with subscriptions for journals. We have department wise labs with good equipment and configured systems for practical learning of subjects. We have seminar halls and auditoriums to conduct special events, guest lectures, and seminars. The canteen offers snacks, light meals and beverages. We have sports, medical and transportation facilities too. We have Wi-Fi throughout the Institute; also, there are ATM and banking facilities for students. We have a very good security with cameras and security staff that does not allow strangers to enter the campus.

The campus life at PVPSIT Vijayawada is pleasant and competitive at the same time. The Institute has youthful, energetic and excited crowd in term of academics and cultural activities. The students here always aim to top in all competitions that are conducted and they actively participate in all of them. At the same, the discipline is strictly maintained. There are multiple clubs and cells like Cultural club which includes clubs for activities like music, theatre, dance, painting, photography, literature, yoga & meditation, quiz, etc. SITAR is an annual fest at the Institute. There are also tech fests, quizzes, coding events, poster contests and many other events held. Life at this Institute is busy but rewarding. There's always something going on which makes life at the Institute very interesting and exciting. I've joined the cultural club and loved it so much since I had the chance to connect to students from various departments.
